Nobody is surprised by the possibilities of television, which are perceived as the most ordinary things. Surveillance of the territories is often carried out with the help of closed-circuit television control systems, which greatly facilitate the task of protecting the object.

Video cameras are installed at doors, gates, in corridors, industrial premises, on the territory of enterprises, etc. In addition, such vital facilities as bus stations, airports, subways that need round-the-clock control are supplied with a closed-circuit television system without fail. Television systems are also used for customs inspection and maintenance of public order.

Unlike various alarm sensors that provide the simplest binary information: a door opened, movement was detected in the room, glass broke, etc., TV cameras provide visual information about an ongoing or already occurred event, saving it on tape. The creation of security systems based on closed-circuit television began in the early 80s of the XX century. Camcorders based on CCD matrices have appeared that can operate without interruption even in very difficult conditions for a long time. Now the design of television surveillance and security systems has become much more complicated. Particular attention in the manufacture of such systems is paid to the improvement of switching devices and systems for processing incoming information.

Television systems are widely used at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense and successfully perform their tasks.:

- visual control of the protected area;

- detection of the intruder, his identification, observation of the situation;

- control over the delivery of the object under protection, the admission of persons and vehicles;

- control over the actions of the employees of the facility and its security forces.

As a rule, organizations that carry out installation work to install the system have a license for the right to engage in this type of activity, and performers have permission to work at sensitive facilities.
