A radio amateur now has to repair not only electronic equipment, but also a wide variety of household electrical appliances. This article tells about the repair of the Kharkiv electric razor. Electric shaver "Kharkov" worked flawlessly for several years in a row. Not so long ago, her work has deteriorated. The electric motor did not always turn on, and over time it was no longer possible to turn it on.

If at first the razor reacted to a change in the position of the power cord and the switch, then later such a “massage" became useless. In addition, the engine speed also decreased, which worsened the quality of shaving. It was necessary to disassemble the electric razor in order to eliminate the above defects. The body of the razor consists of two halves which are connected by three screws. But in order to unscrew them, you must first remove the rubber seals that cover the holes with the screws. The power cord and the plug connector turned out to be completely irrelevant. The power switch turned out to be the culprit in the operation of the razor. The fact is that in one plastic The housing contains two switching elements. The first of them is a power switch, and the second is a switch for the operating mode of the razor motor for two mains voltages (~ 110 and ~ 220 V). Due to the presence of this switch, the electric shaver is easy to burn, since access to it is good .

After some thought, I did the following. The repair of the switch consisted in soldering the wires leading from the windings of the razor motor to this switch-switch. This made it possible to automatically "kill two birds with one stone" at the same time. Firstly, the option of operating the shaver in ~110 V mode with a connection to our 220 V network was excluded. Secondly, the unreliable power switch was bypassed, and will never interfere with the normal functioning of the electric shaver.

It is rather difficult to make a mistake when soldering the motor windings, since the resistance of the DC windings differs by almost two times. I did not bother with the restoration of the switching elements, but simply soldered the motor winding ~ 220 V (with high resistance) to the power cord block. Now it remains to find out the cause of the deterioration of the "thrust" of the engine. Despite the good tightness of the body of the electric razor, a lot of shaved hairs got inside the engine. To remove them, you need a vacuum cleaner. After a thorough cleaning of the engine, he earned more than satisfactory.

This whole repair procedure took not so much time as it might seem at first glance (about 1 hour). At the same time, walking around the workshops, you see, can take much more time.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
