Systems that perform the functions of a peephole and an intercom are called video intercoms. The shape of the video intercom resembles a telephone. It consists of a monitor and an intercom.

When you pick up the handset, the video intercom automatically turns on, which allows you to see the limited space in front of the door and talk to the person behind it. In addition, the video intercom performs the function of a call. The intercom from the visitor's side is a monoblock in which the camera, the intercom and the call button are located. Video intercom - the simplest television security system. It is small and, as a rule, is installed at the front door to a room (for example, to an apartment). As a monitor, you can use a regular TV, which is installed indoors. The camera is turned on when the doorbell button is pressed.

Video peephole allows you to conduct covert surveillance of the visitor. Outwardly, the video peephole resembles an ordinary door, but in terms of its technical equipment it is a miniature video camera with a special lens. Some types of such lenses, such as pin-holes, can be masked and made invisible to the visitor. It is impossible to detect such a video eye without special tools. By the number of subscribers served, individual, group and access intercoms are distinguished.

The individual intercom is designed to serve one subscriber and is used to protect individual apartments, offices, country houses, as well as small security posts.

A group intercom allows you to serve a small number of subscribers (usually from two to six) and is used to protect closed (that is, having one common entrance) halls located nearby offices, cottages for several families, etc. Individual and group intercoms differ in the number of blocks of the same type . The entrance intercom allows serving a large number of subscribers (from tens to several hundreds) and is used to protect the entrances of apartment buildings, office buildings, etc. Modern technology allows the production of integrated multi-subscriber, that is, designed for several entrances, intercom systems. They are designed to protect complexes of residential and administrative buildings. Thanks to one such system, it is possible to serve several thousand subscribers and close the doors of dozens of entrances.

The design of an intercom of any kind consists of the following parts:

- external block (call block);

- subscriber indoor unit;

- processor unit;

- control equipment;

- main power supply;

- backup power supply;

- communication lines;

- remote-controlled electric lock;

- door closer.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Tracking the reaction of museum visitors to exhibits 21.07.2021

In the museums of the Italian city of Bologna, the ShareArt system began to work, which allows you to analyze the reaction of visitors to a particular exhibit.

Special cameras calculate how carefully the guests looked at the masterpieces, how long they lingered near the work of art, reads which emotions prevailed.

In this way, the system generates an "assessment of attractiveness" of paintings, sculptures and artifacts. With the help of it, the curators hope to understand how to plan the space of the exhibition halls based on which exhibits are of more interest to the guests.

Museum curators have decided to use this technology to exhibit more highly rated works and increase the number of tourists. So they want to recoup some of the revenue that museums have lost from coronavirus restrictions.

The system was developed by a team from the government agency ENEA. The first version of ShareArt was ready back in 2016, but it has only just begun to be tested in museums. The developers of the system claim that the privacy of visitors will not be violated. It is only important for museums to collect the emotional reaction of art lovers.

On average, people spend 4 to 5 seconds at each exhibit. Very few works keep visitors for more than 15 seconds.
