ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Subwoofer on two 35GDN-1. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Speakers It all started with the fact that my classmate asked me to help him with the music in the car. There was talk about creating a subwoofer. It took a little time and he still dodolbil me. Chassis and speakers At home, two speakers 35GDN-1-4 were lying around for a long time, so it was decided to make a subwoofer on them. The type of box was chosen by FI, because I consider it the best in terms of quality-return., And the parameters of the speakers allowed me to choose this type of design. A trapezoid-shaped drawer with a beveled back lid for convenience. Made from 16mm chipboard, 25x25mm bars around the perimeter, glued with PVA glue and screwed together. The volume is about 50l|, the phase inverter is located in the middle of the front panel, diameter 75mm and length 30cm|, tuned to 40Hz. The side walls are recessed into the body by about a centimeter to improve the appearance and make the subwoofer easier to use, since the owner will often have to take it out. Since it was decided to make the subwoofer active, a hole 200x120mm in size was made in the left side panel into which a plate is inserted on which the power amplifier is mounted. Inside the box was not pasted over with soundproofing material, although this should be done, I simply did not find anything suitable, and the sub did not do it myself. The box is partially filled with cotton. The top of the box is lined with carpet. The speakers have been slightly improved. The old dust cap was peeled off, because at high power it (in most heads) often gives out a very unpleasant and loud click, which is explained by the fact that with a large amplitude of the speaker stroke, the cap cannot pass a lot of air pressure, rarefied air arises under it and the external pressure bends him inside, after which he loudly arches back. A flat cap of the same diameter as the old one was cut out of 3mm cardboard and glued in its place with PVA glue. Since the new cap does not let air through at all, I had to make a through hole with a diameter of 10 mm in the core of the speaker magnet, unfortunately I did not have time to take a picture. Electronic filling To build up the subwoofer, it was decided not to bother with voltage converters and quickly make an amplifier on the TDA1562Q chip that I had already tested. Since the dynamic heads have a resistance of 4 ohms, they could only be connected in series (the microcircuit does not work for a load of 2 ohms), but in this case the microcircuit clearly lacked power, so it was decided to make two amplifiers, each of which would work (work) for its own dynamic head. Since the radio had a linear output to the subwoofer, we also abandoned the active signal processing filter, and the playback quality | not so much worried about the owner as power. The switching circuit is shown in the figure The printed circuit board has dimensions of 50*155mm, two fully separated amplifiers are mounted on it. You can take it in SL4.0 format here. The printed circuit board provides for the connection of indicators for switching on and H-modes of both channels, as well as a "soft" switching on. A radiator is fixed on the insert plate, on which | what | the amplifier board, power connectors, input connectors, a connector for connecting the remote amplifier switch, as well as two LEDs, an on and H-mode indicator, are fixed. Fuses are located on the same panel. The panel with amplifiers is screwed into the prepared hole in the side panel. sounding In a word, the host was comforted. The sub plays a rather pleasant and deep bass, while creating a rather good sound pressure, of course, you can’t perform on the SPL, but for a simple music lover this sub is enough. PS If the radio does not have an output with a processed signal for the subwoofer, I strongly advise you to still make a filter and be sure to add.
