Somehow fell into my hands speaker MTX T6124, father worked abroad and bought it for only $4. But, unfortunately, it turned out to be burned out. So he lay idle for about a year and finally I solved it rewind. I used to deal with this work, I wound 35GDN-1-4. I think I got it. I decided to try what this MTX is capable of.
First, a box with a volume of 35 liters was made. To be honest, the sound even in this box impressed me greatly, the subwoofer on the 75GDN could not do this. Climbing on the Internet found some information on this speaker. It was a test of a car audio magazine. According to their measurements, a FI of 60 liters was a good option.
Decided to try. There was 16mm chipboard under my hands, and the case was made from this material. In each of its joints - a 2x2cm rail, plus a reinforced rear wall with two more rails through the entire length and a spacer that connected the 4x4cm side walls. The volume is about 65 liters. The phase inverter is tuned to a frequency of 35Hz.
All connections are well screwed and put on PVA glue. They are also coated with silicone sealant. Inside the box is pasted over with foam rubber 20 mm thick. Loose cotton wool was also placed inside the case. I can’t say the exact amount, its amount was established experimentally.
From above, the sub is pasted over with black sheathing fabric, except for the front wall, it is grayish-blue.
The finished subwoofer, in my opinion, came out quite good, both in sound and in appearance. Already the first listening showed that 65 liters is not 35. The bass was powerful and deep. Any music on it played "seriously". And all this for $4, is it ridiculous?
