The corrective amplifier of the tone block is assembled on an operational amplifier (op-amp). The presence of an op-amp allows you to add a mid-range controller to the device, which is achieved by introducing a positive frequency-dependent feedback.

When the slider of the resistor R8 is in the lower position according to the circuit, the input signal is attenuated in the passband of the bandpass filter (R11, C6, C7, R12). If the slider of the resistor R8 is in the upper position, then the output signal is amplified at a frequency of about 1 kHz (the depth of the frequency-dependent positive feedback increases). Capacitor C8 provides a blockage of the frequency response of the device at frequencies above 20 kHz.
Practice has shown that a large depth of adjustment at frequencies of 100 Hz and 10 kHz and a relatively smaller one, at a frequency of 1 kHz, create psychological comfort for listeners when using this tone block, and the absence of sharp inflections in the phase-frequency response (unlike the band-pass controls on the LC- contours) contributes to an "open" sound and does not introduce additional coloration.
When using the circuit in mixing consoles or musical instrument amplifiers, you can change the center frequency of the midrange control, but you must also change the crossover frequency of the bass and treble controls. If the condition Fsch=F section HF, LF is not met, the device works as a generator of sinusoidal oscillations.
The circuit remains operational when the supply voltage drops to 2V, which allows it to be used in portable battery-powered equipment.

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior.
