Like a weed - along the banks of canals and ditches.

Chemical composition. The leaves of the plant contain lagochilin, which is a tetrahydric alcohol. The leaves also contain essential oil - 0,03%, tannins - 11-14%, sugars, ascorbic acid, carotene; in stems - tannins - 6,8%, sugars, carotene; in the roots - tannins and sugars.

Application in medicine. Infusion and tincture of flowers and leaves of lagohilus accelerate blood clotting. They also have a sedative effect.

Lagohilus preparations are used for uterine, hemorrhoidal, traumatic, pulmonary and nosebleeds, they are also prescribed for hemophilia, Werlhof disease, Shenlein-Genoch disease and in surgery during operations to prevent increased bleeding.

Good results have been obtained with the use of lagohilus preparations in patients with functional diseases of the central nervous system. The sedative effect of the drug is considered the basis of clinical improvement, as a result of which sleep improves, affective excitability, tearfulness and other symptoms disappear. Favorable results of treatment with lagohilus were also noted in patients with eczema. The infusion was prescribed (120) 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment was 1,5-2 months.

Infusion of lagohilus. Prepared from the leaves of the plant in a ratio of 110 or 120. The leaves are crushed to a particle size of not more than 5 mm, poured with water at room temperature, put in a boiling water bath, heated with frequent stirring for 15 minutes, cooled for 45 minutes at room temperature. As a sedative, the infusion is prescribed for adults, 1 tablespoon 3-6 times a day. The dose of infusion varies depending on the disease. In chronic bleeding and in the prevention of blood loss after gynecological operations, 2 tablespoons of infusion are prescribed 3-5 times a day. In the treatment of hemorrhagic diathesis, the infusion is recommended to be prescribed in large doses - half a cup 3-5 times a day.

Lagohilus infusion is also used topically. Moisten gauze pads and apply them to bleeding tissues for 2-5 minutes.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

SilverStone ECM22 M.2/PCIe Adapter 31.10.2017

SilverStone has announced the ECM22 card, which allows you to install M.2 SSDs in computers that lack the appropriate connectors.

The new adapter has two connectors for M.2 modules. At the same time, one of them is designed to work through the PCIe interface, and the second one - through the SATA 3.0 interface.

The device is made in the form of a PCIe x4 expansion card. M.2 SSDs are available in 30mm, 42mm, 60mm, 80mm, and 110mm lengths.

In order to ensure stable and uninterrupted operation of a high-speed SSD-drive, the adapter design includes special "gold" inserts, which greatly improve heat dissipation from the installed solid-state module.

The dimensions of the SilverStone ECM22 card are 121 x 11 x 157,3 mm, its own weight is 60 grams. LED indicators inform about the status of work. Guaranteed compatibility with Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.

Demand for solid state storage devices is growing steadily. This year, SSD sales are forecast to reach 190 million units. By 2021, demand will rise to 360 million units, as a result, solid state drives will become more popular than traditional hard drives.
