Here are some recipes sour cream.

1st recipe

Ingredients:

  • cream - 200 ml;
  • natural yogurt (kefir, sour cream) - 2 tbsp.

Mix cream (kefir, sour cream) and yogurt well. Leave 8-10 hours at room temperature. Stir, refrigerate for 10-12 hours.

The fat content and density of sour cream depends on the fat content of the cream.

2st recipe

Ingredients:

  • sour cream (yogurt) - 200 g;
  • fat cream - 400 g.

Pour sour cream (curdled milk) into a glass or enamel bowl, add cream, mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Leave in a warm place for 24-40 hours. Mix thoroughly from time to time.

Stir, cover with cling film and refrigerate for 24 hours.

3st recipe

Ingredients:

  • homemade or store milk with a short shelf life - 1 l;
  • kefir - 4 tablespoons

Boil milk, cool to 36-40 °C. Add kefir, mix well. Pour into a jar, wrap, leave at room temperature for 5-8 hours. When the jar is tilted, the fermented milk should not easily come away from the walls.

Put a colander in a bowl, put gauze in 2 layers, pour fermented milk. Cover with a lid and refrigerate for 8 hours. Stir occasionally.

Beat with a mixer or by hand until smooth. Put in refrigerator.

For the subsequent preparation of sour cream (no more than twice), 2-3 tablespoons of previously prepared sour cream are enough.

4st recipe

To sour milk, you can use special starter cultures and cottage cheese, or simply put the milk to sour in a warm place.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Artificial tungsten sheet 13.10.2016

A cheap catalyst will help create hydrocarbons from sunlight and air without the help of plants.

One way to combat greenhouse gas carbon dioxide is to turn it into a hydrocarbon, that is, into a fuel. This can be done by a device called an artificial leaf (similar to a regular green leaf that converts CO2 into carbohydrates through photosynthesis). Such a device was made by chemists at the University of Illinois under the leadership of Amin Salekhi-Khojin with financial support from the Department of Energy and the US National Science Foundation.

As in natural photosynthesis, the source of energy is sunlight. This energy is used with the help of a catalyst to reduce carbon, and synthesis gas is obtained: a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. It can either be burned or sent to the production of hydrocarbons. Until now, the efficiency of such leaves has left much to be desired, besides their catalysts are made of noble metals.

Salekhi-Khojin decided to use tungsten diselenide nanosheets. This substance perfectly restores carbon dioxide, but is quickly poisoned by the products of reduction. Protection was found - it served as an ionic liquid, ethyl-methyl-imidazole tetrafluoroborate, mixed with water in a ratio of 1: 1. A cell with a liquid and a catalyst was attached to the cathode of a silicon solar battery, and a cell with an electrolyte of cobalt oxide in potassium phosphate was attached to the anode. Under the action of sunlight, which is captured by a silicon battery, oxygen and a hydrogen ion are formed at the anode, the latter enters the cathode cell, reduces carbon, and bubbles of hydrogen and carbon monoxide are released in it.

Such an artificial sheet is a thousand times more productive and twenty times cheaper than one made with a noble metal catalyst. However, the competitive price of the fuel obtained by such a sheet is still very far away - obviously, therefore, the researchers plan to offer their method to the Martian colonists, who will not have any alternative source of hydrocarbons.
