For the preparation of ordinary stationery or school ink by infusion or extract in cold water take:

  • 3 pieces of ink nuts;
  • 2 parts of iron sulfate;
  • 2 parts gum arabic;
  • 60 parts of water.

The nut is crushed into powder and poured into a glass bottle, doused with water. In another vessel, ferrous sulfate and gum arabic are dissolved separately.

The infusion of the nut should stand for several days until the water has removed all the tannin from it, while the vitriol and gum arabic are completely dissolved within a few hours.

The two solutions are poured together, mixed well and, after standing for a day or two, carefully drained to separate the liquid from the precipitate.

Stationery indelible black ink

1st solution:

  • Yellow blood salt 30 g;
  • Tartaric acid 20 g;
  • Ammonia 20 g;
  • Boiled water 2,5 liters.

2st solution:

  • Ammonia-lemon-iron salt 1,6 kg;
  • Ammonia 400 g;
  • Aniline blue 80 g;
  • Gum 500 g;
  • Boiled water 2,5 liters.

The first solution is filtered and poured into the second. To the resulting mixture is added 200 g of gallic acid. The precipitate formed in the ink is dissolved with a few drops of ammonia. The ink is extremely durable and does not damage nibs.

Carmine ink (very nice color)

  • Carmine 20 g;
  • Ammonia 500 g;
  • Gum Arabica 60 g;
  • Distilled water 1500 g.

In a porcelain cup, rub carmine with ammonia, heat over a weak flame and then pour in small portions, with continued low heating, a solution of gum arabic in distilled water. Warm liquid is poured into a bottle and shaken well. After cooling, small vials are filled with ink, which are then well corked.

Black permanent ink

  • Lamp black 10 g;
  • Potassium soluble glass 30-35 °Be 120 g;
  • Ammonia 10 g;
  • Distilled water 380 g.

Carefully dissolve the lamp soot with potassium soluble glass, ammonia and distilled water are added to the syrup with stirring.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Robotic canes for the blind 29.08.2021

Scientists from the Virginia Commonwealth University propose to create a robotic white cane that will simplify the mobility of blind people.

Blind people use a white cane and a guide dog for mobility for many years. Technology is improving, so experts have modernized the white cane. Thus, a roller tip with an electromagnetic clutch and an actuator appeared at the bottom of the cane. With the help of an onboard computer vision system, the cane calculates the direction of movement.

The technique also uses a camera, a gyroscope, and an accelerometer to measure the movement of the robotic navigation system in space. At the same time, a vibration response mechanism prompts a person in the desired direction.
