For making transparent transfer paper, or tracing paper, dissolve wax in turpentine, impregnate thin writing paper with this solution and allow the turpentine to evaporate, after which the paper becomes transparent and ready to use.

Paper can also be given transparency with the help of gasoline: they put thin writing paper on the drawing from which they want to make a copy and, moistening a small piece of cotton wool with gasoline, draw it over the paper. The wetted part of the paper becomes completely transparent and you can draw on it not only with a pencil, but also with ink, and then with watercolors: neither ink nor paints blur. Gasoline quickly evaporates, and the paper completely retains its original appearance.

If the drawing is large, then the paper is cut in parts and the drawing is copied in parts; gasoline disappears not earlier than the work is completed.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
