The metal became covered with rust, the brickwork faded over time, the painted surface lost its appearance ... In all these cases, a skin or a metal brush is taken - and stop! Aside from them - it's yesterday! The lion's share of the tedious and tedious work during stripping must be transferred to the mechanism - the electric brush.

Half of the mechanism is in front of you if you have an electric drill. She doesn't need any modification. The other half is homemade.

The brush is arranged simply (see figure): on the axis - a special-shaped bolt - two steel disks are planted. The bolt seats are square, so torque is reliably transmitted to the discs. Between them - spacer bushings, machined from pieces of steel pipe. Each sleeve carries a number of "brisles" freely located on it, made of steel elastic wire. The wire is cut into pieces 145-147 mm long, and they are bent so that a loop is formed under the sleeve. The outer long end of the "bristle" is working, the inner one is only for fixing it in the working position. When stripping is in progress, the inner ends are pressed against the bushings in front and provide rigidity to the "bristle".

It is useful to grind the working ends perpendicular to the axis of the "bristle", then the quality of the stripping will be higher.

The tool is assembled in the following sequence: the front disk is put on the bolt, spacers are inserted into its holes, and ten "bristles" are strung on them - in a column. Then the rear disc is put on and the nut is screwed to failure, which is locked with a cotter pin. The brush is ready to go.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

SN65HVD82 - RS-485 interface with enhanced anti-interference and ESD protection 29.10.2015

To ensure reliable data communication, Texas Instruments offers the SN485HVD65 RS-82 transceiver with improved performance.

The microcircuit allows you to build an RS-485 network that is resistant to both interference and emergency situations caused by electrostatic discharges, breaks or short circuits on the line. The SN65HVD82 transceiver is surge tolerant up to +-18V on the A and B lines. The built-in 60mV hysteresis is an effective tool for dealing with noise and interference. The microcircuit meets a number of requirements of the IEC standard for ESD protection and is designed to build highly reliable industrial networks.

Applications SN65HVD82: electricity meters, building automation, industrial networks, security systems.

The SN65HVD82 interface chip is available in a standard pinout package commonly used in RS-485 transceivers from various manufacturers. This allows the SN65HVD82 to be installed in an existing product, in the event that it is necessary to increase the overall reliability of the device.

The microcircuit has a supply voltage of 5 V, while it easily fits into microcontrollers with a 3 V supply.

Despite the high technical parameters, SN65HVD82 can be purchased at a fairly attractive price, even in comparison with simpler RS-485 transceivers.
