The lightest kayak compared to this catamaran will be twice as heavy. When folded, it takes up less space than any inflatable boat. But you can swim on a catamaran together, like on a good kayak. And there is room for cargo.

If desired, it is easy to put a small sail. You may not go on serious trips on it, but for a day off it is a very convenient watercraft.

The design is extremely simple: two inflatable floats in fabric covers, a U-shaped tubular frame-frame and two fabric seats. The floats are glued together from a first-aid kit of oilcloth, the surface of which is then covered with rubber glue and powdered with powder for "silver" paint.

Fabric covers protect the floats from punctures and protect from the sun. Duralumin pipes with a diameter of 20-25 mm were used for the frame-karbas and the base of the seats.

Oars - kayak.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Space debris sensor to be installed on ISS 29.07.2017

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to install a space debris sensor on the outer surface of the International Space Station (ISS).

The Space Debris Sensor is scheduled to launch in the cargo hold of the SpaceX 13 Dragon spacecraft in November 2017. After the capsule docks with the International Space Station, a robotic arm will remove the sensor from the spacecraft and attach it to the outer surface of the Columbus module.

The sensor will be installed on the module, which is located in the forward part of the ISS in the direction of flight. It will stay there for three years, taking on the impact of space debris less than 1 mm in size. After that, it will be returned to Earth for evaluation by specialists.

The knowledge gained, the report says, will be used to update a computer model of the spread of space debris in near-Earth orbit.
