NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR has released the world's first LP3883 CMOS voltage regulator with a very low voltage drop across it (450 mV).

The regulator allows you to convert the input voltage in the range of 1,8 ... 2,5 V into an output voltage of 1,2, 1,5 or 1,8 V at a current of 3 A and with an output accuracy of + 3% in the temperature and load range.
