FUNDAMENTALS OF FIRST AID
Care of the injured and sick. Medical banks Directory / Fundamentals of First Aid Medical banks - round glass vessels with a capacity of 30-70 ml, with thickened smooth edges and an expanded bottom. This is one of the means of influencing blood and lymph circulation: by causing local reflex expansion of blood vessels, cups have a resolving, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. In places where cans are applied, small hemorrhages form as a result of rupture of blood vessels. Blood decay products in these areas are absorbed, providing a stimulating effect on metabolism. Indications for the use of cans are inflammation of the bronchi, lungs, pleura; inflammatory diseases of muscles and nerves; the presence of congestion in the lungs with heart disease; bronchospasm. Banks are contraindicated for persons with damaged skin, with hypersensitivity of the skin, the presence of skin diseases in the places where the cans are applied, as well as with a tendency to bleeding, with pulmonary tuberculosis, tumors, severe exhaustion of the patient, and mental agitation. Banks are placed on the back area to the right and left of the spine, on the lateral surfaces of the chest, on the front surface of the chest on the right. Banks are not placed on the region of the heart, mammary glands, sternum and spine. Before using jars, make sure that they are clean, dry, and their edges are not damaged. The procedure for the procedure is as follows. A set of cans (20-25 pieces), a bottle of ethyl alcohol, matches, cotton wool, a jar of petroleum jelly, a metal knitting needle with a threaded end are prepared on the bedside table by the patient's bed. The patient is placed on his stomach or on his side, the skin of the back is smeared with petroleum jelly. Then the cotton wool wound around the needle is moistened with alcohol, the cotton wool is slightly squeezed out so that the alcohol does not drain from it. Next, the cotton wool is set on fire, holding the knitting needle in the right hand, instantly circle the inner surface of the jar, which is held in the left hand, with a blue flame. Then the entire circumference of the hole is applied to the jar to the body. Due to the rarefied air formed in the bank, the skin is drawn into its lumen, and the bank is tightly attached to the patient's body. The distance between the installed banks should be 2-3 mm. Having put the banks, the patient is well covered. After 10-15 minutes, the jars are quickly removed: with one hand, the jar is slightly tilted to the side, and with the index finger of the other hand, they press on the skin so that air enters the lumen: while the jar leaves itself. The skin is wiped with a dry towel, underwear is put on and the patient is recommended to remain covered and in bed for another half an hour. After each procedure, the jars are thoroughly washed and wiped. Authors: Aizman R.I., Krivoshchekov S.G.
