It is advisable to warm the patient even before placing the patient in bed by placing heating pads or bottles of water under the covers. When laying the patient in bed with heating pads, care must be taken, since they, in contact with the skin of the patient, especially in an unconscious state, can cause severe burns.

Local application of heat. Heat can be applied in the form of warm local baths, warm compresses, heating pads (electric heating pads or rubber bladders, or bottles filled with hot water). The bottles are wrapped in a towel. Napkins are laid between the heating pad and the skin. It is necessary from time to time to check whether the heating pad burns and whether water flows from it. ,

Warm compress - a dressing applied for therapeutic purposes and providing moist heat. It is used as a distraction, absorbable and analgesic.

To apply a warming compress, you need to have linen or gauze folded in several layers, oilcloth or compress paper, cotton wool, bandage, water at room temperature. The compress consists of three layers. A piece of cloth is moistened with water, wrung out, applied to clean and dry skin, covered with compress paper or oilcloth. The oilcloth should be 2-3 cm larger than the piece of fabric and completely cover it. A sufficient layer of cotton wool is applied over the compress paper to retain the heat generated under the compress. The layer of cotton wool should go 2-3 cm beyond the layer of oilcloth. The compress is bandaged so that it fits snugly to the body, does not move and does not squeeze the vessels. The compress is kept for 6-8 hours, then removed, the skin is wiped dry. Apply a dry bandage, which is changed twice a day - in the morning and at night.

The correctness of the application of the compress is checked after 1-2 hours by putting a finger under the bandage. If the inner layer of cotton wool is moist, then the compress is applied correctly.

As a result of the action of heat that occurs under the bandage, a long-term expansion of blood vessels occurs, blood flow increases, metabolic processes increase, which contributes to the resorption of inflammatory foci and pain relief. A warming compress is used to accelerate the resorption of local inflammatory processes (in the skin, subcutaneous adipose tissue, in the joints) and to relieve pain.

To reduce skin maceration and increase the analgesic effect of a warming compress, its inner layer is moistened not with water, but with drug solutions, oils and ointments: 5% ethyl alcohol solution, 10% sodium salicylate solution, camphor oil, Vishnevsky ointment, etc. Alcoholic or vodka compresses dry out faster, so they should be changed more often.

Warmer - rubber bag with screw cap. The heating pad is half filled with hot water, then the air is forced out and hermetically sealed. The air from the heating pad is removed so that it has a flat shape and fits more closely to the body. To avoid burns, a heating pad is never placed on a naked area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe body. It should be wrapped in a towel and placed over linen or even on a blanket if the water is very hot. First you need to check the integrity of the heating pad, the fit of the cork, otherwise the patient is in danger of being burned. Periodically it is necessary to control the temperature and the correct position of the heating pad.

More convenient to use heating pads. They provide even, controllable, consistent warmth.

Contraindications for the use of heating pads are bleeding, acute diseases of the abdominal cavity, fresh injuries, malignant tumors, tuberculosis.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Robotic Maintenance of a Radio Telescope 02.08.2023

Chinese researchers are preparing to implement innovative robotic systems and platforms to operate the National XNUMXm Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), which is nicknamed the "Chinese Sky Eye" and is considered the world's largest single-disk radio telescope.

The joint efforts of the Guizhou Radio Astronomy Observatory and ten other scientific organizations, including the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Harbin Institute of Technology, are aimed at developing robotic maintenance systems for the telescope.

FAST has an area equivalent to 30 standard football fields, which creates a challenge for its maintenance. The introduction of robotic solutions is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the telescope and increasing the duration of scientific observations.

The main focus is on the development of intelligent robots for testing and maintaining various telescope systems, such as supporting cables and feeders, drives and laser targets on the reflector, as well as monitoring radio interference and meteorological measurements of the feed booth.

Particular importance is attached to the all-weather intelligent robot for measurements in the aft cabin. This device is designed for accurate and reliable measurements in conditions typical of the FAST radio telescope and its surroundings.

The robot, developed by the National Astronomical Observatory, is a unique multifunctional measurement device based on microwave technology designed to operate in the difficult climatic conditions of Guizhou Province.

Another important robot is designed to service laser targets on a reflector. This solution, developed jointly by the National Astronomical Observatory, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Guizhou Radio Astronomy Observatory, includes an intelligent device for controlling and maintaining laser targets.

These robotic systems will effectively solve complex maintenance and surveillance tasks that previously faced challenges due to weather conditions and complexity of scale.
