For artificial respiration it is necessary to lay the patient on his back, unfasten the clothing that constrains the chest and ensure free airway patency. If there is content in the oral cavity or pharynx, it must be quickly removed with a finger, napkin, handkerchief, or using any suction (Fig. 65).

To free the airways, the head of the victim should be pulled back. It must be remembered that excessive abduction of the head can lead to narrowing of the airways. For a more complete opening of the airways, it is necessary to push the lower jaw forward. To prevent retraction of the tongue during artificial respiration, keep the head in the allotted position with the hand, shifting the lower jaw forward.

Rice. 65. Exemption of the oral cavity and pharynx from foreign bodies, mucus and vomit: a - manually; b - with the help of a suction pear

When breathing "mouth-to-mouth" the victim's head is held in a certain position (Fig. 66).

Mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-nose ventilation technique

Rice. 66. Artificial ventilation of the lungs by the "mouth-to-mouth" method: a - the position of the victim's head; b - blowing air through the mouth

The resuscitator, taking a deep breath and tightly pressing his mouth to the patient's mouth, blows air into his lungs. In this case, with the hand located at the forehead of the victim, it is necessary to pinch the nose. The exit is carried out passively, due to the elastic forces of the chest. The number of breaths per minute should be at least 16-20. Insufflation should be carried out quickly and abruptly (in children - less abruptly), so that the duration of inspiration is 2 times less than the exhalation time.

It is necessary to ensure that the exhaled air does not lead to excessive distension of the stomach. In this case, there is a danger of the release of food masses from the stomach and their entry into the bronchi. Of course, mouth-to-mouth breathing creates significant hygienic inconveniences. Direct contact with the patient's mouth can be avoided by blowing air through a gauze napkin, handkerchief or any other loose material. With this method of lung ventilation, air ducts can be used (Fig. 68).

Rice. 68. Artificial ventilation of the lungs through the duct

When using the mouth-to-nose breathing method air is blown in through the nose. In this case, the victim's mouth should be closed with a hand, which simultaneously shifts the jaw upward to prevent tongue retraction (Fig. 69).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Critical vulnerability of SIM-cards of any operator 22.09.2019

Cybersecurity experts have found a way to gain access to devices equipped with a SIM card - not only smartphones, but also smart gadgets.

The vulnerability, dubbed SimJacker, is found in the SIMalliance Toolbox Browser (S@T Browser) software, which is used in both SIM cards and eSIMs as part of the SIM Tool Kit (STK). SimJacker has been known to hackers for a long time and they have been using it for the past years, according to The Hacker News.

With the help of messages sent to the device, you can activate a number of S@T Browser commands that allow you to find out: the IMEI of the gadget, its location, device language, battery level, send messages and make calls, download malware by visiting pages in the browser and do much more other.

The problem with SimJacker detection is that antiviruses do not see it - this is due to the fact that the vulnerability uses some of the commands that are necessary for the operation of the SIM card and therefore are unrecognizable as malicious actions for antiviruses. Experts have recorded hacking gadgets of Apple, Google, Huawei, Motorola, Samsung, ZTE and others in this way.

The specialists who identified SimJacker reported the results of their work to the GSM Association and promised to disclose all information about SimJacker in October 2019. But even now, experts responsible for cybersecurity have called for the modernization of SIM cards, which have not changed their specification since 2009.
