Disorders of cerebral circulation may be transient (cerebral vascular crisis), s the rapid disappearance of all painful phenomena. Such disorders often precede the development of a stroke. Disorders of cerebral circulation often occur with hypertension (due to spasm of cerebral vessels), with atherosclerosis and heart disease. Their development is facilitated by overvoltage, prolonged exposure to the sun or in a hot and stuffy room. The brain crisis lasts from several minutes to several days.

A more severe cerebrovascular accident is called brain stroke. In this case, loss of consciousness occurs due to cerebral hemorrhage or blockage of cerebral vessels. Hemorrhage occurs more often in patients with hypertension, blockage of blood vessels - in cardiovascular diseases. Atherosclerosis causes changes in the walls of the vessels supplying the brain and, as a result, narrowing of their lumen. With this disease and with other lesions, the formation of clots is possible, which clog the lumen of one of the cerebral vessels.

Evidence

Disorders of cerebral circulation are characterized by a sudden increase in headaches, dizziness, noise in the head; sensation of heat, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting; feeling of numbness and "goosebumps", more often on the limbs; sometimes loss of consciousness. The patient is stunned, the skin of the face is reddened or pale; profuse sweating, weakness, impaired limb movements, speech disorder, facial asymmetry are noted. A more severe picture of the disease develops with a cerebral stroke. Painful phenomena at the onset of the disease are not always clear, and it is difficult to clarify the causes of cerebrovascular accidents.

With hemorrhages, a sudden deep loss of consciousness occurs; pulse slow, tense; characterized by complete or incomplete paralysis of the arms and legs. The patient falls, his breath is hoarse, his mouth is half open.

With blockage of the cerebral vessels, the loss of consciousness is often incomplete or occurs more slowly, the pulse is frequent, weak, nausea, vomiting, and respiratory failure are noted; symptoms of the disease develop gradually. A stroke in hypertensive patients is usually accompanied by reddening of the face. With circulatory disorders in older people who do not suffer from hypertension, the skin of the face is pale. A stroke can be complicated by collapse, swelling of the brain and lungs, and also give a picture of clinical death.

First aid

In view of the fact that at the beginning of the disease it is difficult to determine whether all the phenomena will be transient or a cerebral stroke will develop, the measures of assistance should be the same as for a stroke. The patient should be placed in complete rest in the supine position. If the patient suffered from hypertension and took any vasodilating drugs (papaverine, no-shpa, etc.), it is necessary to give them to him. In case of heart disease, the patient should also be given the medicines that he used. Don't try to bring him back to consciousness. In the event of cerebrovascular accidents, especially in a serious condition of patients, they can be transported only at the direction of a doctor, after providing the necessary assistance at home.

When the patient's face is reddened and he has hypertension, it is necessary to give an elevated position to the head and apply an ice pack or cold lotions to the head, mustard plasters and heating pads to the calf muscles. To avoid burns, heating pads are placed on top of the blanket. In case of violation of cerebral circulation (in the absence of hypertension), accompanied by pallor, an elderly patient should not raise his head, use mustard plasters and a heating pad - in this case, it is necessary to take medicines that improve heart activity: validol, valocordin and cordiamine. In the absence of consciousness, the general measure of assistance will be the provision of airway patency.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Helping your child with homework is not helpful 19.08.2022

For decades, the scientific community has encouraged parental help and control over homework. Allegedly, the joint performance of school work has a positive effect not only on discipline, but also on the grades of children. Alas, American scientists in a new study dispelled this myth.

US scientists used two datasets covering students in grades 1-5 in public and private schools. When analyzing the results, the socioeconomic status and education of parents were also taken into account. The results were very surprising - no relationship was found between parents' help with homework and the child's success in math or reading.

Scientists have found that no matter how smart an adult or child is, whatever their socioeconomic status, and how much time is spent on textbooks, this is unlikely to have any significant impact on a child's academic results.

In earlier studies, scientists have already wondered what kind of help parents should provide with homework. And they came to the conclusion that with the right attitude and choice of the right strategy, adults are able to instill in a child a love of learning.

However, there are many factors that can hinder rather than help you succeed in school. For example, parents may perceive helping with homework as stressful, which can create some tension or pressure. Lack of time in adults can lead them to simply complete tasks on their own and give answers instead of explanations. But scientists see the main reason for the failure of such assistance in the fact that parents are simply not trained to convey information in the way that teachers do.

"Primary school is the growth of knowledge, but even more - the skills and habits of the child," scientists say.

The researchers note that although doing homework together will not affect academic performance, it may well have positive results in other aspects - for example, preventing a child's psychological health or increasing the amount of time spent together.
