What to do in case of electric shock

1. If the child, under the influence of shock, cannot remove his hand from a dangerous object, then help the baby to free himself. Turn off the current (unplug the appliance from the socket or turn off the fuse). If it is impossible to remove the current source, carefully, without touching the exposed areas of the victim’s body, wrap your hands with dry rags or put on rubber gloves, stand with your feet on a dry, non-conductive bedding (rug, stack of newspapers, dry rags, a piece of rubber, boards) and drag child away from the power source. Do not use wet or metal objects for this!

2. Then, regardless of how the victim feels, urgently call an ambulance.

3. If the baby is conscious and has no concomitant head or chest injuries (obtained, for example, in a fall), raise his legs 20-30 cm above head level.

4. If the child has head and chest injuries, on the contrary, raise the child's head higher.

5. To keep warm, cover the baby with a warm blanket and wait for the doctor.

6. Before the doctor arrives, let the baby drink as much as possible.

7. Check the child for signs of shock. If the child is dizzy, if he loses consciousness, and his skin becomes pale, cold and wet, if his breathing is shallow and rapid, and the pulse is weak and frequent, then take resuscitation measures.

8. If, after an electric shock, the child does not breathe, then begin to carry out resuscitation yourself: mouth-to-mouth breathing and chest compressions.

RESUSCITATION

Check if the baby is conscious. To do this, rub it on the back, gently pull, call. If the baby does not respond, then, holding the head and neck well with your hand, without bending your back, lay him on a hard surface face up and undress to gain access to the chest.

To free the airway from the tongue, which could have fallen, bring the lower jaw forward, open the mouth and straighten the head back. The baby's mouth should remain open.

Bend your ear to your mouth and once again make sure the baby is not breathing.

Take a close look at the chest - it moves with breathing or not. It is necessary to evaluate the presence of spontaneous breathing for no longer than 5 seconds.

If there is no breathing, begin artificial respiration. Without changing the position of the baby's head, tightly cover his nose and mouth with your lips if the baby is an infant. If he is over 1 year old, pinch his nose with your thumb and forefinger and press your mouth firmly against his mouth. Take a shallow breath and perform two gentle breaths of 1 second each.

If the chest does not begin to move during artificial respiration, change the position of the baby's head, bend it further back and take two more breaths of air.

9. If a child has an electrical burn, remove all clothing that is easy to remove. Douse the burned area with cool tap water until the pain subsides. Apply a wet cloth to burned parts of the body that cannot be immersed in water for a long time (for example, the face). Blot your skin gently.

10. If the burn continues to hurt the child, cover the burned area with a clean, dry, smooth cotton or linen bandage.

11. If the child's hands or feet are burned, separate the fingers with cotton pads or gauze, then apply a loose, clean bandage.

ATTENTION!

Do not touch the child with bare hands while he is in contact with a source of electrical current. If your child has burns, do not remove dead skin or open blisters. Do not apply ice, butter, ointments, or medicines to the burn, or apply cotton bandages or adhesive tape to the burn.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The car recognizes the face of the driver 08.12.2013

Panasonic is seeking partnerships with automotive manufacturers and is ready to acquire some of them. The plans of the Japanese company in the automotive industry told its employee Yoshihiko Yamada (Yoshihiko Yamada), who holds the post of head of Panasonic's division for the production of automotive and industrial products.

According to a top manager, the company is negotiating with some manufacturers of auto parts. Of great interest to Panasonic are driver-assistance systems such as automatic valet parking. For such developments, the company is ready to create sensors and cameras attached to the bumper of the car, Yamada said.

He noted that Panasonic can use its experience in the consumer electronics market and take some technology from there for cars. For example, all-round cameras used in Nissan, BMW and other models will be able to recognize faces thanks to special software from Lumix cameras, Yoshihiko Yamada said, without going into details.

After 6 years, Panasonic wants to earn up to 2 trillion yen (about $19 billion) a year from selling products for vehicles, which is about 2 times more than now. This amount includes revenue from sales of infotainment systems, including the popular Chrysler Uconnect and Chevy MyLink, as well as lithium-ion batteries used in Toyota and Tesla Motors electric vehicles. Yamada added that Panasonic sells 60% of automotive components to Japanese car manufacturers.
