Fainting - this is a manifestation of acute vascular insufficiency, in which there is a sudden sharp weakening of the blood supply to the brain and the resulting short-term loss of consciousness. Fainting is expressed in a sudden onset of dizziness, darkening of the eyes, tinnitus, dizziness, severe weakness and loss of consciousness.

Fainting is, as a rule, short-term and is accompanied by blanching and cooling of the skin, especially the extremities. Breathing becomes slow, shallow, but sometimes deep; there is an increase in the pulse, insufficiency of its filling and tension; cold sweat breaks out.

Fainting occurs with mental trauma or nervous shock, excessive overwork, prolonged stay in a stuffy room, with a sharp change in body position from horizontal to vertical, etc. But fainting can also be a symptom of a serious heart disease (for example, with acute heart failure, heart attack myocardium).

Exhaustion, anemia (anemia), pregnancy, hypertension, infectious diseases, etc. contribute to the occurrence of fainting.

First aid. First of all, to improve cerebral circulation, it is necessary to give the patient a horizontal position with a low head and raised legs. It is necessary to free the neck and chest from restrictive clothing, to ensure the flow of fresh air into the room. To irritate the nerve endings in the skin, the face and chest are sprayed with cold water, the body is rubbed, ammonia is inhaled.

As a rule, these measures are enough to bring the patient to his senses. However, fainting may recur, and therefore, after the patient has come to his senses, he must be put to bed, give him strong tea or coffee, warm by covering him and applying warm heating pads to his limbs.

In case of prolonged fainting, you should immediately call a doctor.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

New NASA launch vehicle 06.07.2012

The American space agency NASA has presented a complete set of requirements for a new heavy rocket system designed to fly beyond low Earth orbit.
The new Space Launch System (SLS) launch vehicle will be the most powerful in the world and can only be compared with the Saturn V rocket, which delivered astronauts to the moon.

The heart of the new heavy launch vehicle will be the first stage, over 61 meters high and 8,4 meters in diameter. It will be equipped with "shuttle" RS-25 rocket engines operating on environmentally friendly fuel - hydrogen and oxygen. The SLS program currently has a stockpile of 16 RS-25 engines that have proven themselves in manned shuttle missions. The SLS will also be equipped with two solid rocket boosters located on the sides of the launch vehicle.

The first test launch of the new launch vehicle will take place in 2017 with a 70-ton payload, which will already be a record for modern rockets. However, in the future, a two-stage SLS will be able to lift a record 130 tons into low Earth orbit. Such opportunities open up great prospects for the development of near-Earth space, and most importantly, flights deep into the solar system.

With the help of SLS, NASA will send manned and unmanned Orion spacecraft, large exploration robotic missions and manned missions to Mars, asteroids, and the Moon into space.

In fact, the Space Launch System is a "creative redesign" of an exceptionally successful shuttle launch system. The use of proven engines, boosters and environmentally friendly fuels, as well as the minimum "dry" weight of the launch vehicle, is a successful combination of reliable proven solutions and the latest technologies.
