FUNDAMENTALS OF FIRST AID
Cystitis. Medical care for a child Directory / Fundamentals of First Aid Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder, which affects girls more often than boys. It is caused by bacteria: E. coli or Staphylococcus aureus. The infection can enter the bladder from the kidneys or through the ureter, as well as through the blood. Very rarely, infection occurs by contact. In girls, cystitis often begins after hypothermia, for example, swimming in too cold water, it is almost always the result of inflammation of the external genital organs - vulvitis. Non-compliance with the rules of the hyena, bathing babies in open water without swimming trunks leads to inflammation. Girls aged 4 to 7 years are especially susceptible to the disease, because their body is especially susceptible to infections. In boys, cystitis begins as a result of inflammation of the skin of the glans penis. In babies, the cause of cystitis can be intestinal disorders and worms, especially pinworms, which during sleep can crawl into the urethra, and sometimes into the bladder. With adenovirus infection, cystitis can occur with the release of blood impurities into the urine. The first symptoms of the disease Temperature increase. Malaise, irritability, loss of appetite, nausea and even vomiting. The smaller the child, the more pronounced the symptoms of general intoxication. Older children have frequent urge to urinate, not only during the day, but also at night. After urination, the child feels severe prolonged pain. Sometimes children experience urinary retention (it occurs due to the child's fear of discomfort). Urine becomes cloudy, sometimes with clots of fresh blood, which is a sign of a severe inflammatory process. When to see a doctor If you experience pain when urinating and blood in your urine, call emergency services. If you have other symptoms of cystitis, contact your local pediatrician or urologist. What to do before the doctor arrives 1. Eliminate spicy and fatty foods, preservatives from the diet. 2. The child must follow a dairy-vegetarian diet. 3. Provide your baby with plenty of drink - tea, compote, juices. A large amount of liquid drunk reduces the concentration of urine, and this reduces its irritating effect on the nerve endings of the inflamed mucous membrane of the bladder and helps to flush out microbes and their metabolic products - toxins. 4. To relieve pain, do sitz baths with a warm, weak solution of furacilin (0,02%) or with a decoction of chamomile. Traditional medicine The husk of bean pods is a good remedy for cystitis. Take 6 tbsp. spoons per 1 liter of boiling water. Insist 2 hours. Let your child drink 1/4 cup 3 times a day while warm. Tea from the leaves of the Tatar: 1 tbsp. teaspoon for 300 ml of boiling water. Leave for 1 hour. Let your child drink 1/4 cup 3 times a day. Author: Basharova N.A.
