Methods for removing victims
Directory / Fundamentals of First Aid
Comments on the article
In addition to providing self-help and mutual assistance, trainees must master methods of removal of victims to safe places and for loading onto vehicles. These methods are dictated by the nature of the lesion, the condition of the victim and the availability of improvised means for removal. For example, you can move victims on bedding, sheets of plywood, etc.
The most convenient means of transporting the victim is a sanitary stretcher (Figure 11).
Rice. 11. Carrying the wounded on a stretcher
Rice. 12. Techniques for carrying the wounded: a - with the help of a strap; b - on the back; c - together on hands (lock of three or four hands)
Laying the victim on a stretcher is carried out as follows: the porters bring their hands under his head, shoulders, pelvis and legs, at the same time carefully lift him, move him towards the stretcher and lower him onto them. You can take the victim and clothes.
You can arrange an impromptu stretcher with the help of improvised means (coats, sheets, blankets, tents, etc.), tying them to two poles.
One of the reliable ways to transport victims is carrying on a strap, folded, ring or figure eight. Victims can also be carried out on their backs or on their hands - using the "three-hand lock" or "four-hand lock" method (Figure 12).
It is important to ensure the most comfortable position for the victim, especially the damaged part of the body. It is best to put the victim on his back or healthy side. If the arm is damaged, it is placed on the chest, the injured leg is slightly bent at the knee and placed on a roll of clothes, a pillow. People with a jaw injury should be placed face down on a stretcher with a roll of clothing placed under their foreheads. In case of injuries of the spine and pelvis, the victims are transported in a lying position on a shield, in case of injuries to the chest - in a semi-sitting position.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
Petgugu Global cat litter
15.04.2024
Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>
The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
Random news from the Archive MDmesh K5 - new 900V MOSFETs from STMicroelectronics
21.11.2017
STMicroelectronics has expanded its K5 family of power MOSFETs with a new 900V version. By using 900V MDmesh K5 transistors, the network power converter can be more reliable than, for example, 650 - 800V MOSFETs.
The new transistors have the lowest Rds (on) among analogs in TO-247 (99 mΩ) and DPAK (810 mΩ) packages. At the same time, it was possible to reduce the gate charge of the transistors, which makes it possible to achieve greater efficiency and operate at higher switching frequencies.
The new MOSFETs have significantly reduced input and output capacitance, allowing the devices to be used in ZVS (Zero voltage switching) circuits. Another feature of the series is the high level of the threshold voltage for turning on the transistor, as a result of which the level of electromagnetic interference of the system is reduced. The high avalanche resistance of the new K5 MOSFETs is an important factor in end-device microsecond transient immunity tests.
MOSFET MDmesh K5 are available in a wide range of packages with channel impedance from 99 mΩ to 2.1 Ω.
Features of MDmesh K5 transistors:
- low Rds (on) values at high drain-source voltage;
- the ability to work at high switching frequencies;
- resistance to avalanche breakdown;
- ESD shutter protection;
- a wide range of devices in various cases.
