General rules for first aid

Fundamentals of First Aid (OPMP)

First aid - this is a complex of medical measures performed at the site of the lesion, mainly in the order of self-help and mutual assistance, as well as by participants in emergency rescue operations using standard and improvised means.

This is prompt assistance to the victim in case of injury or a sudden attack of illness, which is provided until the ambulance team arrives.

Timely provision of first aid can be crucial in saving the life and health of the victim.

The general procedure for first aid is as follows:

establish the need for first aid;
make decisions about the provision of first aid;
call an ambulance;
start first aid measures and provide it until the arrival of specialists.

An ambulance must be called in the following situations:

if the victim is unconscious;
if the victim has difficulty or no breathing;
if the victim does not stop chest pain or he feels pressure in the chest;
with severe bleeding;
with severe pain in the abdomen;
with poisoning.

In other cases, when it is immediately difficult to determine the need to call an ambulance, one must remember that it is better for the experts to conclude that there was no need for them than the victim will not receive the medical care he needs.

Laser Air Defense System Light Shield 26.03.2022
