Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. Persons who have been instructed at the workplace and trained in the prescribed manner and who have group I in electrical safety are allowed to work as a car washer.

1.2. The cleaner must know and observe:

device, principle of operation and rules for the technical operation of washing equipment;
the main types and principles of malfunctions of this equipment;
safe practices when performing car washing operations;
rules of internal labor regulations;
fire safety rules for gas stations.

1.3. The washer must not touch the electrical equipment, do not repair the malfunction of the electrical equipment himself.

1.4. At the gas station, a mechanized, automatic car wash is used.

1.5. The unit is controlled from the control cabin.

1.6. The car wash post should be separated from other posts.

1.7. To ensure safety, washing installations are located in isolated rooms.

1.8. All rotating and current-carrying equipment of electric motors and auxiliary mechanisms must be protected.

1.9. Compressor equipment must have sound and light alarms when the parameters go beyond the set value.

1.10. Pumping stations and other production facilities and premises must be equipped with fire extinguishing equipment in accordance with the requirements of the State Fire Supervision Service.

1.11. The design and location of the controls should exclude the possibility of involuntary and spontaneous switching on and off of production equipment.

1.12. Repair of equipment under water in tanks should be carried out only after the facilities are freed from water.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Before turning on the washing system, the washer must:

put on overalls, safety shoes;
clean the workplace and passages around the unit.

2.2. Verify:

serviceability of the drive, actuators of the installation and its starting devices;
availability, serviceability and reliability of fixing protective fences;
availability and reliability of grounding of electric motor cases and starting equipment;
serviceability of insulation of electric power wiring;
sufficiency of illumination of workplaces.

2.3. Check the operation of the washing installation without the installation of vehicles.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. When installing vehicles on an automatic car wash, the driver must leave the car and the car wash.

3.2. Washing and drying of vehicles is carried out according to the established program.

3.3. In case of open hose (manual) washing, the washing post should be located in an area from which water jets cannot reach open current-carrying conductors and live equipment.

3.4. When washing by hand, the ladders and paths along which the washer moves must have a corrugated surface. The floor at the washing station should have a slope for water to run off, wooden grates should be placed under the feet of the workers.

3.5. With open (manual) and closed (mechanized washing), lighting sources, wiring and power motors must be hermetically isolated.

3.6. The electrical control of the units, as a rule, should be low-voltage (12 V). It is allowed to supply magnetic starters and control buttons of washing installations at a voltage of 220 V, subject to the following conditions: a mechanical and electrical interlock device when opening the doors of magnetic starter cabinets, waterproofing of starting devices and wiring, grounding of housings, cabins and equipment.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. If equipment defects are found that pose a danger to human life and the integrity of the equipment, immediately stop work, if possible, disconnect the electrical equipment from the mains, take measures to eliminate the accident, and report the incident to the management of the gas station.

4.2. If there is a danger of an accident, take measures to prevent it. If an accident occurs, provide medical assistance to the victim, if necessary, call an ambulance. Notify the management of the gas station about the incident.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Make sure that the electrical equipment of the washing installation is disconnected from the mains.

5.2. Clean up the workplace and around the washing plant.

5.3. Report all malfunctions to the foreman or the head of the gas station.
