2.13. Make sure that there are no unauthorized persons in the work area, as well as obstructions that prevent the movement of cargo (machines, equipment or materials).

3. Labor protection requirements before starting work

3.1. When loading the lift platform, the driver is obliged to monitor the uniformity of the load and its location within the dimensions of the platform. It is not allowed to exceed the loads established for this lift, as well as the cargo to go beyond the established dimensions of the platform.

3.2. The worker must know exactly the weight of the load to be lifted. If he himself cannot determine whether the weight of the load is close to the maximum for a given beam crane, it is necessary to contact the master to clarify this issue.

3.3. Before lifting a platform with a load, the driver must warn the workers servicing the lift about the need to leave the danger zone, and as long as they are in the danger zone, do not raise the platform.

3.4. All operations for lifting and moving cargo must be carried out by the driver at the signal of signalmen specially assigned for this purpose. An exception to this rule is the "Stop" signal, which is carried out by the driver, regardless of who gave it.

3.5. When lifting a load, you must first raise the platform to a height of no more than 200 mm, make sure that the brakes are working and that the mast is stable, and only then continue lifting to the required height. Raising and lowering the platform should be carried out smoothly, without jerks.

3.6. Lifting and lowering on the platform of people, as well as flammable and explosive goods is not allowed.

3.7. While the lift is in operation, drivers are prohibited from:

  • clean and lubricate lift mechanisms;
  • leave the platform suspended during work breaks or short-term absences;
  • switch the operation of the cargo winch from forward to reverse;
  • raise the platform to the end position to the stop and use the limit switch for automatic stop;

  • entrust the operation of the lift to other persons;
  • deactivate limiters and electrical protection.

3.8. When loading the lift platform, the following requirements must be observed:

  • small-piece, bulk cargo or solution must be in a container specially designed for this;
  • long loads are allowed to be lifted provided that the platform is equipped with extensions fixed on it and having fences that prevent the load from falling out;
  • bulky material should be lifted in cassettes or containers designed for this purpose, which should not rest against the platform railings.

3.9. Before lifting and moving the load, the worker is obliged to inspect the place of storage, the presence of a passage to it and warn people working in the area of the load being moved.

3.10. If it is necessary to perform work under the platform, it must be lowered onto the supports by the carriage or locked with a safety device.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of a malfunction of the lift mechanisms, in the event of a ground break and other malfunctions and other malfunctions that can lead to an emergency, the worker must:

  • if possible, lower the lift platform;
  • suspend further operation of the lift until the malfunctions are eliminated;
  • notify the supervisor.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Lower the load platform down.

5.2. Clear the platform of debris and building materials.

5.3. Turn off the power switch, remove the fusible links and lock the protective cover of the switch.

5.4. Check the serviceability of the mechanisms and the cargo rope.

5.5. Notify the supervisor of any problems.

5.6. Wash your hands with soap or take a shower.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Increasing the life of ultracold molecules 17.08.2021

The study of molecules cooled to very low temperatures is important for the development of quantum simulations, precision measurements, ultracold chemistry, and more. To do this, physicists need to learn how to cool them, collect and hold them, and also protect them from destruction. The latter factor significantly limits the range of experiments and phenomena that scientists could investigate in such systems.

The main channel for the decay of ultracold molecules is their inelastic collisions with each other. To avoid them, scientists use screening, that is, the creation of additional repulsion between molecules at distances at which inelastic interaction processes begin. To date, shielding of atoms and molecules has already been implemented by many different methods. For example, scientists have learned how to protect ultracold KRb molecules from each other using constant electric fields. Despite the progress made, physicists are constantly looking for new regimes that would increase the lifetime of such molecules.

Researchers from Korea and the US, with the participation of Tijs Karman from the University of Cambridge, used microwave radiation to shield two CaF molecules held by optical tweezers from each other. They showed that by controlling the parameters of the external fields, it is possible to switch molecules between the screening and anti-screening modes, changing their lifetime by a factor of 24.

The idea of such screening is based on the concept of "dressed" states. If a two-level system is irradiated ("clothed") with a resonant alternating field, then the population of its states will oscillate with the Rabi frequency. By controlling the field parameters, it is possible to ensure that between molecules in "dressed" states, a strong long-range dipole-dipole interaction arises, which can be both attractive and repulsive. The latter depends, among other things, on which states are "dressed" by the field.

To implement this principle, the authors preliminarily prepared two CaF molecules, each caught in its own trap of optical tweezers, by applying a magnetic field of 27 gauss. After that, physicists for some time pushed them together in the presence of a microwave field, carried them in different directions and, using the lambda imaging method, looked at whether they fell apart or not. Thus, the scientists were able to plot the proportion of "surviving" molecules depending on the time of interaction. By changing the configuration of "dressed" states, the authors could influence this number by comparing it with the number of "naked" molecules that were not exposed to microwaves.
