Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. This instruction provides for the basic requirements for organizing and conducting the safe work of an electrician at gas stations (gas stations) at oil product supply enterprises.

1.2. A gas station electrician may be exposed to the following life and health hazards: electric shock, poisoning with toxic vapors and gases, and thermal burns.

1.3. Maintenance and repair of gas station electrical equipment is allowed for electricians who have an electrical safety group of at least III, at least 18 years old, after a medical examination, who have undergone theoretical and practical training, tested their knowledge of labor safety requirements in the prescribed manner and received permission to work independently.

1.4. The gas station electrician must be provided with overalls, footwear and personal protective equipment in accordance with applicable standards, including, among other things, for work in emergency situations:

  • cotton suit;
  • rubber boots;
  • combined gloves;
  • for outdoor work in winter additionally:
  • cotton jacket with insulating lining;
  • felt boots.

In addition, provision should be made for the issuance of personal protective equipment (dielectric gloves, galoshes, rugs). The tool must be with dielectric handles.

1.5. The gas station electrician must be able to use fire extinguishing equipment, know their location.

It is forbidden to use fire equipment for other purposes.

1.6. For local lighting at night, portable rechargeable lanterns with voltage up to 12 V in an explosion-proof design should be used.

It is forbidden to turn on and off rechargeable lanterns in places where explosive vapors and gases can accumulate.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on overalls, check the availability and serviceability of protective equipment, devices and tools used in the work.

2.2. If a malfunction of the protective equipment is detected, the electrician is obliged to inform the immediate supervisor about this. It is forbidden to use protective equipment that has not passed the next test.

2.3. Prepare workspace:

  • make the shutdowns necessary for the production of work, hang out warning posters: "Do not turn on - people are working!";
  • if necessary, secure the workplace and hang a poster: "Stop! Danger to life!".

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. Notify the gas station operator of the work being done.

When inspecting the internal parts of the electrical equipment, disconnect the electrical equipment from the supply mains, followed by checking the absence of voltage on the disconnected equipment.

Shutdown should be done with dielectric gloves, standing on a rubber mat. After switching off, remove the fuses and post a warning poster.

3.2. The correctness of switching off switching devices with voltages up to 1000 V with contacts inaccessible for inspection (automatic switches, package switches, closed circuit breakers) is determined by checking the absence of voltage at their terminals or outgoing buses and wires.

3.3. In electrical installations, it is necessary to check the absence of voltage with a voltage indicator only factory-made, the serviceability of which is checked before use by testing it for operation in electrical installations that are known to be energized.

3.4. The results of inspections of the electrical equipment of gas stations are recorded in the operational log of inspections of electrical equipment.

3.5. When working in explosive installations, it is prohibited:

  • operate electrical equipment in case of faulty protective grounding, faulty blocking of devices, in violation of the explosion protection of the shell;
  • open the shell of explosion-proof equipment, if the current-carrying parts are energized;
  • turn on an automatically disconnected electrical installation without finding out and eliminating the reason for its disconnection;
  • overload electrical equipment, wires, cables in excess of the nominal parameters;
  • connect to the power sources of intrinsically safe devices other devices and circuits that are not included in the set of this device;
  • replace burned-out electric lamps in explosion-proof lamps with other types of lamps or lamps of higher power than those for which the lamps are designed;
  • use metal ladders when working in electrical installations;
  • replace the protection of electrical equipment with other types of protection or protection with other nominal parameters for which this equipment is not designed.

3.6. Before starting the temporarily disconnected equipment, the electrician is obliged to inspect this equipment, make sure that it is ready to receive voltage and warn the personnel working on it about the upcoming inclusion.

3.7. The doors of the switchboards of electrical installations must be kept closed and locked at all times, except during repairs.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of an emergency (increased gas contamination, fire), it is necessary to turn off the general switch, stop work immediately, leave the danger zone, inform the shift supervisor, and begin to eliminate the emergency in accordance with the emergency response plan.

4.2. When catching fire in electrical installations, carbon dioxide and powder fire extinguishers should be used.

4.3. In case of electric shock, it is necessary to release the victim from voltage, if necessary, call an ambulance, provide first aid. Notify shift supervisor.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Remove barriers prohibiting posters.

5.2. Insert the fuses and turn on the breaker if the equipment is ready for further operation.

5.3. Put the tool and the remaining unused materials in their places.

5.4. Make an entry in the log of inspection and repair of electrical equipment about the work done.

5.5. Notify the immediate supervisor of the completion of work.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Ionic liquids are looking for a way to British businessmen 28.07.2009

Ionic liquids are one of the two main areas of "green" chemistry (the second is supercritical fluid). It is expected that these fusible salts will help replace many of the toxic solvents and electrolytes currently used in industry. Like everything new, these substances find their way into practice with difficulty.

To make things easier, on June 3, 2009, scientists at the University of Leicester launched a facility called the Ionic Liquid Demonstrator, a set of semi-industrial devices that can be used to develop and demonstrate related technologies. The basis of Leicester liquids is vitamin B4, choline chloride.

This substance is considered harmless, in any case, no restrictions are imposed on its use. By adding salts and other substances to the vitamin melt, it is possible to achieve that its properties correspond to a particular task. Now the demonstrator shows the possibilities of ionic liquids in metalworking - electropolishing, electroplating and applying oxide coatings. It is well known that electroplating is a hazardous and dirty industry with a large amount of toxic waste.

“Using ionic liquids reduces energy costs, reduces pollution, and improves product quality,” says Chemistry Dean Andy Abbot. ".
