1. General requirements for labor protection

General labor protection requirements are set out in the instructions "General requirements for labor protection for workers engaged in logging and forestry work".

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Do not change the established order and method of work without the permission of the master.

2.2. Make sure that the ladders, ladders used to collect cones and fruits from growing trees are in good condition:

ladders must have devices that prevent them from shifting and tipping over; ladders longer than 3 meters must have at least 2 tie bolts located under the steps;
the ends of the stairs are bound with sharp metal tips, the upper steps are sheathed with felt, the distance between the steps is 15-25 cm.

To collect seeds and cones at a height of more than 5 m, manholes or hydraulic lifts are used.

Before starting work, check the serviceability of manholes and auxiliary equipment (safety belts).

2.8. Lifts must provide:

cross-country ability and stability during work and moving, the maximum permissible transverse angle of inclination of the lift with a raised picker should be no more than 5 degrees;
secure fixation of the basket in the raised position, eliminating the possibility of the basket falling;
fixing the doors of the basket for the entry and exit of the picker;
the basket must have a fence at least 1,2 m high to protect the picker from hitting branches;
lift baskets are equipped with a sound alarm - check the serviceability of all this equipment.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. The collection of seeds and cones should be carried out by teams (links) consisting of at least 2 people, one of them is appointed senior.

3.2. Before collecting seeds and cones from a growing tree, make sure it is stable, do not leave the basket when collecting, constantly secure in the prescribed manner and exercise caution and discretion when working at height.

3.3. Avoid collecting seeds and cones:

from dangerous trees (hanging, with a damaged root system, rotten, sawn, etc.)
from landed trees, being on their trunks, in the danger zone of felling the forest, closer than 50 m from the bundle being dropped from the tractor shield, simultaneously with the cutting (trimming) of branches
in the area of loading operations, from mounded trees on a slope without their binding, from trees, landed and located along a slope with a steepness of more than 20 degrees and across a slope with a steepness of more than 15 degrees.

3.4. Ladders and ladders must ensure the safety of working at heights. It is unacceptable to lay boards, stones, branches for these purposes. Be sure to have metal stops at the ends of the stairs. Two workers cannot work on the same stepladder at once.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. The collection of seeds, cones, fruits from growing trees stops during rain and after it (until the trunk dries), when the trunks are iced, in snowfall, fog, when the wind speed is more than 6,5 m / s.

4.2. During a thunderstorm, stop work, take a safe place in a clearing, an area of deciduous young growth, between trees growing at a distance of 20 m from each other, in the mountains and hilly terrain closer to the middle of the slope, if possible, settle down on insulating material (dry deadwood, moss, birch bark), remove metal objects, machines and mechanisms from yourself.

Prohibited during a thunderstorm:

be on the move, on top of a mountain, hill, forest edge
stop at streams, rivers, lakes
hide under separate trees, rocks, stones, lean against them
stand near and under power lines, at triangulation signs, other towers and signs, be located closer than 10 m from machines and mechanisms.

4.3. In the event of a forest fire, take measures to extinguish the fire on your own, if possible, give information to the forestry, forestry or other organization, enterprise or population. If it is impossible to extinguish the fire and threat to life, take personal safety measures and leave the place of ignition.

Do the same in case of any other danger (environmental, natural disaster, radiation, chemical hazard) that threatens people's lives.

4.4. In case of an accident, provide the victim with first aid, if necessary, accept him for delivery to a medical institution, inform the head of work about the incident, and, if possible, preserve the situation of the incident.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Clean, put in order the tools, equipment, put them in storage in the designated places.

5.2. Remove uniforms, overalls and footwear, clean and free them from dust, and place them in storage.

5.3. Make sure that there is no encephalitis tick, if present, remove it.

5.4. Perform hygienic procedures, when working in the zone of radiation contamination, perform the prescribed procedures.

5.5. Report all comments on the work to the official and enter the comments in the register of administrative and public control on labor protection.

5.6. Put out the fires and sprinkle them with soil.
