  • exposed wires of the electric cable;
  • the cable coupling is faulty;
  • there is no contact of the grounding conductor of the cable;
  • the switch is faulty;
  • The engine gets very hot;
  • an electric shock is felt when touching the body of the saw;
  • abnormal noises and knocks are heard during the operation of the tool;
  • saw chain teeth are blunt.

2.6. The marker must check the serviceability of the measuring tool and the reamer.

2.7. Faults found during the inspection and test sawing, if it is impossible to eliminate them on your own, must be reported to the foreman or mechanic. It is not allowed to work with a defective tool.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. The employee must perform only the work that is entrusted to him by his immediate supervisor.

3.2. The marking and bucking of the whips (longitude) with motor tools must be done after the separation (rolling) of the pack (stack) in one row. It is prohibited to buckle whips (longitudes) on stacks, packs and ways of rolling whips.

3.3. When rolling (separating) the whips along the overpass with a winch, pulling device, it is necessary:

  • slinging of the whips is carried out with a steel rope for accessible places at two points so that during the movement the whip moves evenly;
  • pull the lines under the whip using a special metal rod;
  • make sure that there are no people in the way of the whips or the movement of the ropes;
  • turn on the pulling device or winch only after receiving a signal;
  • uncoupling of the slings should be done after the whip stops and the traction rope is loosened.

3.4. It is allowed to roll out the whips manually with the help of wag, hooks, kondak, full-widths, while being at the ends of the bundle being pulled apart. It is forbidden to be on a pack of whips, on the way of their rolling, to push with hands, feet, as well as with the help of metal hooks.

3.5. Curves and double-top whips should be moved by gradual dragging, preventing them from rolling.

3.6. When bucking and marking the lengths, the marker should not be in the way of the possible movement of the cut assortment.

3.7. When bucking the whip, it is necessary to take a stable position, bring the saw stop close to the trunk, turn on the saw and lightly press the saw chain into the wood.

3.8. The beginning and end of sawing should be done smoothly, without jerks, in order to avoid running and breaking the saw chain.

3.9. In the event of a power outage, disconnect the saw motor from the mains.

3.10. In the process of work, the crosscutter and the scriber must ensure that their feet are not under the sawn whip.

3.11. In order to avoid pinching during sawing, it is necessary to put linings under the whip or support it with a soldering tool. It is forbidden to support the sagging part of the whip with the foot or hands.

3.12. Switching from cut to cut (from one whip to another) with a gasoline-powered saw should be done when the engine is running at low speeds (when the saw chain does not rotate), and with an electric saw, when the electric motor is turned off.

3.13. When bucking whips, it is prohibited:

  • buckle unstable whips without taking measures to prevent their arbitrary movement;
  • sawing, standing on a whip;
  • sawing lying whips in a pile;
  • transfer control of the saw to other persons;
  • carry the saw connected to the power cable on the shoulder;
  • leave a running saw on a flyover unattended;
  • refuel the gasoline-powered saw with fuels and lubricants while the engine is running;
  • repair, change the saw chain or its tension with the engine running;
  • wind a live saw cable around the body.

3.14. It is not allowed to work on cluttered platforms and overpasses, as well as in workplaces not strewn with anti-slip materials.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. If the engine overheats, stop it and let it cool down. Do not cool the engine with water or snow.

4.2. When clamping the saw chain in the cut, turn off the saw motor and then release the bar. It is forbidden to release the tire clamped in the cut when the electric saw engine is turned on.

4.3. If it is necessary to eliminate a malfunction that has arisen during operation and maintenance, turn off the saw engine.

4.4. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the appropriate work manager of each accident.

4.5. Each worker must be able to provide first aid. Assistance must be provided immediately at the scene of the incident. The first step is to eliminate the source of injury (turn off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the whip, etc.).

The provision of assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens the health or life of a person: in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, you should first bandage the wound, and then apply a splint; for burns, apply a dry bandage; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues.

If injuries are suspected: the victim can only be transported in the supine position on a rigid base.

After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Upon completion of work, you should:

  • disconnect the clutch of the saw from the power cable;
  • clean the motor tool from sawdust, dirt and debris;
  • remove the saw chain and hand it over for sharpening;
  • remove the saw for storage in the room designated for this;
  • clean and put away the measuring instrument and the full scale in place;
  • remove rubbish and clean up the workplace.

5.2. Any deficiencies in the field of labor protection must be reported to the foreman or the relevant work manager.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Flywheel hybrid automotive technology 02.04.2014

Volvo is testing innovative Flybrid KERS technology, which will increase the power of the power plant of cars by 80 horsepower and reduce fuel consumption by up to 25%.

For four years, the companies have been testing Flybrid KERS on public roads and at test sites in Sweden and the UK. This research is part of the development of Volvo Drive-E engines, which will offer "an uncompromising combination of high performance and economy."

Flybrid KERS is a special system that provides for the installation of a flywheel on the rear axle of a front-wheel drive car. The technology was tested on the S60 model, which is equipped with a T5 five-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 254 hp. With. Flybrid KERS provides kinetic energy recovery: during braking, energy that would otherwise be lost in the form of heat is transferred from the wheels to the KERS system and drives a carbon fiber flywheel that spins up to 60 rpm. When the car starts moving again, the energy stored by the rotating flywheel is transferred back to the rear wheels through a special transmission, which allows for faster acceleration or less stress on the power plant.

The internal combustion engine, which transmits torque to the front wheels, is switched off as soon as the braking process begins. The flywheel's energy can be used to start from a standstill or to keep the car moving when it reaches a certain speed.

The energy provided by the flywheel is enough to drive the car for short distances. This has a significant effect on fuel economy. Volvo calculates that the engine will be off for half the time to drive.

The flywheel is driven during braking, so recuperation energy is only available to a limited extent. This technology is most effective in conditions where the vehicle often brakes and starts moving again. In other words, fuel economy will be most noticeable when driving in city traffic or when driving dynamically.

If the energy recuperation of the flywheel is taken into account with the full power of the internal combustion engine, then the car receives an additional 80 hp. With. Thanks to the high torque, the car is capable of fast accelerations: for example, the experimental Volvo S60 T5, equipped with this system, accelerates to 100 km/h about 1,5 seconds faster than the standard model. The KERS rear-wheel drive makes the car partially all-wheel drive, improving traction and stability during acceleration.

In addition, Volvo used the Flybrid flywheel, which includes a steel base and a carbon fiber outer part. Such a device weighs about six kilograms, and the diameter is 20 centimeters. The flywheel rotates in a vacuum, which avoids energy loss due to friction.
