2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Check the completeness, serviceability and put on overalls, shoes and safety devices. Familiarize yourself with the order of work, clarify with the foreman the nature of the loading work for the shift and, in accordance with this, the danger zones and other safety requirements. When working near power lines and in other hazardous areas, obtain a work permit and undergo a targeted briefing.

2.2. Prior to work, the crane operator (crane driver, hereinafter referred to as the "operator") is obliged to carefully check the condition of the fasteners, hydraulics, connecting pipes, hoses, junction boxes, brakes, attachments of the logger and the tract itself, cab protection, as well as the serviceability of the sound signal . It is forbidden to work on a faulty log loader and without an audible signal.

2.3. The driver of a logging road train is obliged to check the correct installation of the machine in relation to the stack of whips, the serviceability of fastening the drawbar, cross hitch, locks of the trailer bunk racks and the machine. After the machine is fully prepared for loading, the driver must give a signal to the operator of the log loader.

2.4. Narrow-gauge rolling stock, put on loading, must be braked by shoes or cut-in sleepers.

2.5. Before loading, the butts of the whips must be leveled, the tops and knots are sawn on the ground before loading.

2.6. A timber road train waiting for loading must be outside the danger zone of the jaw loader, it is possible to get under loading only after the operator's permission signal.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Before starting work, the operator of the log loader must make sure that the timber transport is correctly positioned for loading and that there are no people in the danger zone.

3.2. The operator is obliged to give an audible signal at the beginning of loading and, in the future, when loading, be guided by the signals of the driver.

3.3. The "stop" signal is executed by the operator immediately, regardless of who gave it.

3.4. When loading and stacking timber with a jaw loader, the following requirements must be observed:

  • the center of gravity of the lifted package should not go beyond the dimensions of the lower jaw of the loader;
  • the load to be moved must be securely clamped by the gripper and lifted in a vertical position;
  • it is not allowed to find cargo above the cab of the road train;
  • loaded wood must only be leveled with a log loader, manual leveling is not permitted;
  • the laying of wood on the road train must be carried out smoothly, without bumps;
  • the distance from the cabin fence to the ends of the loaded timber is at least 0,75 m;
  • when working at night, loading is carried out with sufficient artificial lighting;
  • the logger cabin door must be closed during operation;
  • during the loading process, the driver of the road train must be in a safe area and in the line of sight of the operator of the timber loader.

3.5. When operating the log loader, the following conditions must be observed:

  • when transporting the log loader under its own power, the boom must rise to a level that provides sufficiently good visibility and stability;
  • move the log loader on a bad road or over rough terrain in first or second gear;
  • maneuvers during loading to carry out in first gear;
  • the operating pressure of the oil in the hydraulic system must not exceed the allowable limit.

3.6. During operation of the jaw logger it is not allowed:

  • take wood from a sharpened pile;
  • dismantle dense stacks with a height of more than 4 m;
  • to load timber in the lower extreme rows to the racks of the logging truck bunk, the length of which overlaps the distance between the bunk by less than 1 m;
  • raise, tilt and lower the load while moving;
  • leave the workplace of the operator during loading;
  • exceed the load capacity of the log loader during loading;
  • the exit of the center of gravity of the immersed pack of wood beyond the dimensions of the lower jaw;
  • rearrange the timber truck under the lifted load;
  • to carry out loading in the presence of people in the danger zone.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of an emergency, take measures to ensure the safety of people and personal safety, in case of any threat to life - leave the danger zone, inform the foreman or another official about the incident.

4.2. In case of an accident, provide the victim with medical first aid, if necessary, take measures to transport him to a medical institution. If possible, save the situation of the incident, report the incident to the foreman, another official.

4.3. Loading operations are stopped during a thunderstorm, heavy rain, heavy snow and fog (visibility less than 50 m), storm wind.

4.4. In the event of a fire, to extinguish the flame, it is necessary to use a fire extinguisher located in the cab, other fire extinguishing means, in case of a threat to life, leave the danger zone. Report the fire to the forestry, forestry, if necessary, call the fire department.

4.5. During a thunderstorm, work stops, metal objects and mechanisms are placed away from people, and people, if possible, should take shelter indoors or take a safe place in a clearing, in small folds of terrain on a hillside, between trees growing 20-25 m from each other, in deciduous young growth.

It is forbidden during a thunderstorm to hide under trees, lean against their trunks, be near and under power lines, come closer than 10 m to separate trees, poles, lightning rods, high stones, etc., be at the top of a hill, and also closer than 10 m from machines and mechanisms.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. The crane operator must:

  • place the log loader in the designated parking area and lower the jaws to the ground;
  • turn off the engine, brake the timber loader, drain the water in winter, lock the cab;

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Billions of tons of diamonds discovered in the bowels of the Earth 18.07.2018

Recent studies by scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have shown amazing results: there are billions of tons of diamonds in the Earth's crust.

The initial purpose of the study was to compile a model of the structure of the lithosphere.

Diamonds were discovered using the method of "transmission" of the Earth's surface with infrasonic waves. The wavelength changes depending on the temperature and density of the substance.

Huge reserves of diamonds are located at a depth of 200 km in cratons - sections of the earth's crust that form continents and are located in the central part of the plates.

However, a myriad of precious stones turned out to be inaccessible to mankind - there are no technologies capable of drilling the earth's crust to such distances.
