Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. General safety requirements are set out in the Instruction "General safety requirements for professions and types of work in furniture production".

1.2. Dangerous and harmful production factors: moving mechanisms and machines, moving products, blanks, materials; increased noise level in the workplace.

Sources of factors: rotating cutter, cutter head; rotating moving parts of the machine; poor-quality manufacturing of the cutting tool and insufficient fastening of the cutting tool or the material being processed; milling operation.

Effect of factors: the possibility of contact with the cutting tool, the possibility of contact with moving and rotating parts of the equipment, the possibility of overhang of the cutter, knives, overhang of hard alloy plates; the possibility of a part flying out of the collage; negative impact of noise on the hearing organs.

1.3. Personal protective equipment: cotton suit, goggles; hearing protection.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Make an external inspection of the machine, make sure that the spindle turns well, there is no play.

Check the belt drive. Make sure that the belt is free of tears, oil and other contaminants.

Check the operation of the caliper lift mechanism.

2.2. Check the sharpness of the sharpening of the cutting tool, make sure that there are no cracks, notches.

2.3. Check the strength of fastening of knives, cutters, cutter heads.

2.4. Check the serviceability of electrical equipment and grounding devices.

2.5. Make sure the braking device is working.

2.6. On the milling machine: check the reliability of fixing the guide ruler, the presence of serviceable devices that ensure the clamping of the workpieces to the table and the ruler (springs, combs). Check the presence and serviceability of the cutter guard.

2.7. On a milling carousel: check the presence and serviceability of the template and the reliability of its fastening on the machine table; check the serviceability of pneumatic clamps; compressed air hoses; check the correct installation of the thrust ring.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Processing of parts should be carried out only in the direction of the wood layer.

3.2. Do not wear gloves.

3.3. Do not process wood with large cracks, rot.

3.4. It is not allowed to fix the guide line with clamps.

3.5. For milling machine:

  • if small cracks, rot, knots are found, reduce the feed rate;
  • milling blanks with a section of 40x40 mm, a length of 400 mm or less in special devices (templates); when processing parts with a cutting tool with a radius of 200 mm or more, and also, if more than two cutters are installed on the spindle, fix the upper end of the spindle in the bracket.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Turn off equipment.

4.2. Post a table about the malfunction of the machine or equipment and report this to the direct management.

4.3. In the event of a fire or extinguishing a flame, use a nearby fire extinguisher.

4.4. The victim or bystander must notify the appropriate work manager of each accident or poisoning.

4.5 The employee must be able to provide first aid. Such assistance is provided immediately, directly at the scene and in the following sequence: first you need to eliminate the energy source of injury (switch off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the car, heavy object, etc.).

Assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens life or health (in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; for open fractures, first bandage the wound and then apply a splint; for burns, apply a dry bandage ; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues). If spinal injury is suspected, transport the victim only in the supine position on a rigid base.

4.6. After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Turn off equipment. Wait for it to come to a complete stop. Tidy up the workplace: remove tools, fixtures; clean the machine from dirt and dust; wipe and lubricate the rubbing parts of the machine; neatly fold the finished parts and the remaining material.

5.2. Cleaning of wood waste (sawdust, shavings, dust) from the surface of the equipment, as well as from overalls, is carried out with a brush, sweep or using vacuum cleaners. It is unacceptable to blow the machine and clothes with compressed air.

5.3. Rags used during work and when cleaning, put the rags in a special metal box with a closing lid and take it outside the workshop to a specially designated place.

5.4. Wash hands with warm water and soap.

5.5. Report all noticed shortcomings in the operation of the equipment to the shift worker or foreman.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The camera does not need a lens 01.02.2014

Rambus specialists have developed a CMOS image sensor that allows you to make cameras without lenses. As stated, the development will significantly reduce the cost and reduce the size of digital cameras by eliminating the lens, which accounts for a significant part of the cost and size.

In short, the new structure allows the main functions of the camera to be realized only by the sensor and the signal processor. To do this, a CMOS type sensor is endowed with certain optical properties. Note that the theoretical part of the study has already been confirmed by practice.

It is expected that reducing the cost and size of digital cameras will significantly expand their distribution. In particular, it will be possible to produce and use disposable cameras.

The developers note that new cameras need a rather complex signal processing scheme. In some cases, for example, for real-time video processing, the performance of this scheme must be relatively high. However, Rambus believes there are a number of applications where the benefit of eliminating optical components outweighs this overhead. In addition, the company estimates that the annual rate of growth in the specific performance of signal processing circuits is 150%, which is incomparably higher than the indicator of optical components, equal to 5%.
