Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. Persons at least 16 years of age who have undergone appropriate training, labor safety instruction, medical examination and who have no contraindications due to health conditions are allowed to work independently with fabric.

Students from the 1st grade who have undergone instruction in labor safety, a medical examination and have no contraindications due to health conditions are allowed to work with fabric under the guidance of a teacher (teacher, master).

1.2. Students must comply with the rules of conduct, the schedule of training sessions, the established modes of work and rest.

1.3. When working with fabric, workers may be exposed to the following hazardous production factors:

  • pricks of the fingers with needles and pins when working without a thimble;
  • hand injuries due to careless handling of scissors and when working on a sewing machine;
  • electric shock when operating an electric sewing machine.

1.4. When working with fabric, the following protective clothing should be used: a cotton robe or apron and scarf. When using an electric sewing machine, a dielectric mat is used.

1.5. In the room for working with fabric there should be a first aid kit with a set of necessary medications and dressings.

1.6. Students are required to comply with fire safety rules and know the location of primary fire extinguishing equipment. There should be a fire extinguisher in the fabric working room.

1.7. In the event of an accident, the victim or eyewitness to the accident is obliged to immediately inform the teacher (teacher, master), who informs the administration of the institution about this.

1.8. While working, follow the rules of wearing special clothing, rules of personal hygiene, and keep the workplace clean.

1.9. Students who have failed to comply with or violate the instructions for labor protection are held accountable and all students are given an unscheduled briefing on labor protection.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Put on overalls, put your hair under a kerchief.

2.2. Check for rusty needles and pins.

2.3. Prepare the workplace for work, remove all unnecessary.

2.4. Make sure that the protective grounding (grounding) of the body of the electric sewing machine is present and in good condition, and that there is a dielectric mat on the floor near the machine.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Keep needles and pins in a certain place (cushion, special box, etc.), do not leave them at the workplace.

3.2. Do not use rusty needles and pins when working, and do not put needles or pins in your mouth under any circumstances.

3.3. Sew with needles only with a thimble.

3.4. Attach the patterns to the fabric with the sharp ends of the pins in the direction away from you.

3.5. Store scissors in a certain place, put them with closed sharp ends away from you, pass them to each other with handles forward.

3.6. Do not lean close to the moving parts of the sewing machine.

3.7. Do not hold your fingers near the sewing machine foot to avoid getting pierced by the needle.

3.8. Before stitching the product on the sewing machine, make sure that there are no pins or needles on the seam line.

3.9. Do not bite off the threads with your teeth, but cut them off with scissors.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. If a malfunction occurs in the operation of the sewing machine, stop working, release the start pedal of the electric sewing machine and inform the teacher (teacher, master) about this. Continue work only after eliminating the malfunction.

4.2. If a sewing needle or pin breaks, do not throw the broken pieces on the floor, but put them in a trash bin.

4.3. If an injury occurs, provide first aid to the victim, if necessary, send him to the nearest medical institution and inform the administration of the institution about this.

4.4. In case of electric shock, provide first aid to the victim, if the victim does not have breathing or pulse, give him artificial respiration or chest compressions until breathing and pulse are restored and send the victim to the nearest medical facility.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Unplug the electric sewing machine from the mains.

5.2. Check the availability of a working tool and tidy up the workplace.

5.3. Carry out wet cleaning of the room and its ventilation.

5.4. Remove protective clothing and wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Measured time without using a clock 12.02.2017

Physicists at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Lausanne have been the first in the world to measure the amount of time it takes for an electron to escape from an atom, enabling the creation of the latest atomic clock that does not rely on lasers.

At present, the main problem with atomic clocks is that they require a very precise "ordinary" clock to keep track of when an ion absorbs a laser pulse and re-emits it. Due to the delay of such clocks, it is sometimes difficult to determine exactly when the process in the atom began.

Physicists have been able to accurately determine the amount of time that an electron spends escaping from an atom - it is equal to 27 billionths of a second. They managed to do this by studying the quantum physical characteristics of particles when a copper plate was fired with laser pulses.

Swiss scientists are sure that they managed to measure the fastest process in the Universe, which will allow creating a qualitatively new atomic clock.
