Safe Operation

General labor protection requirements

1. Direct responsibility for the organization of safe work on snow removal, staffing harvesters with the necessary number of workers and signaling means rests with the heads and foremen of the operational areas in charge of the removed objects.

2. The head or foreman of the site is obliged:

a) ensure that the workers undergo a briefing at the workplace, check the assimilation of this briefing, make an entry in the appropriate journal, and only after that allow access to work;

b) provide each worker servicing the snow loader with a red flag measuring 30 x 17 cm, with a pole 40 cm long, as well as a red bandage 10 cm wide and a whistle;

c) organize work in such a way that the number of dump trucks waiting in line for loading, as a rule, does not exceed 3 trucks.

3. When removing snow from green facilities with the help of snow plows, snow is swept into shafts placed in places with the least pedestrian traffic.

4. Before the release of dump trucks for work, in addition to checking their general technical condition, it is necessary to check the serviceability of the body and the lifting mechanism. Particular attention should be paid to the following elements:

a) the condition of the locking devices, excluding spontaneous lowering of the body;

b) fastening of the platform, lifting mechanism and its parts;

c) the reliability of the tailgate lock.

5. Dump trucks must be provided with an inventory stop device to maintain the body in a raised state.

6. When loading snow, two workers must always be near the snow loader: the first one is near the boom, the second one is near the shovel (feeder).

7. Workers are required to know well and strictly follow the stipulated signals when operating the loader.

To control the operation and movement of the snow loader, the following red flag signals are used:

a) the flag is raised up - the operation of the snow loader and the movement of dump trucks must be stopped and resumed only after it is lowered;

b) on a signal, wave the flag in the direction of the loader - you can submit the dump truck for loading;

c) on a signal, wave the flag in the direction of movement - the dump truck should move away from the loader.

8. When performing work, workers must wear orange signal jackets.

Occupational safety requirements before starting work

9. It is necessary to make sure that all members of the team involved in mechanized snow removal are well aware of the established signals and are provided with signaling equipment.

10. You should wear the established overalls and safety shoes, signal orange jackets and red armbands.

Occupational safety requirements during work

Requirements for the first worker at the snow loader boom

11. You must not leave your workplace without a replacement, and if there is no replacement during the care, you should stop the work of the snow loader.

12. It is necessary to carefully monitor the supply of dump trucks for loading, and in case of violation of safety regulations, immediately stop the operation of the snow loader and the movement of dump trucks.

13. When picking up snow heaps, the gap between the loader and the loaded dump truck must be at least 5 m.

14. It is forbidden for people to be between the snow loader and dump trucks that are being loaded.

15. It is forbidden to clean snow around the snow loader yourself or allow others to clean it while it is running or vehicles are moving.

Requirements for the second worker located at the shovel (feeder) of the snow loader

16. It is necessary to be careful when working and give warning signals in a timely manner.

17. The worker must always be at the receiving mechanism (shovel) of the snow loader from the sidewalk.

18. You should carefully monitor the road ahead of the loader and in case of obstacles in front of it (manhole covers, gratings, ledges of sidewalks), immediately give a signal and stop the work of the snow loader.

19. If foreign objects get on the shovel (feeder), you must immediately give a signal to the driver to stop the work of the loader. It is forbidden to remove foreign objects from the conveyor and from the shovel (feeder) while the snow loader engine is running.

20. In the event of a danger to people's lives, workers servicing snow loaders are required to stop work and take measures to eliminate the emergency.

21. Special care should be taken when working near public transport stops, shops, schools and other crowded places.

22. Both workers, when escorting a snow loader and a dump truck, must follow them during snow loading. In this case, the first worker moves from the side of the axial part of the road to the side of moving cars, and the second worker moves along the sidewalk to prevent the possibility of pedestrians getting between the snow loader and the dump truck.

23. When moving from one facility to another, workers must be in the cab of the dump truck. It is not allowed to run over and allow other people to run over on the steps and wings of snow loaders and dump trucks.

24. When loading snow on overpasses, workers must be on the path outside the carriageway of the overpass.

25. When loading snow along squares and boulevards, a snow loader can serve one worker, who must move along the sidewalk along the facades of buildings and supervise loading operations.

26. When a snow loader approaches a pedestrian crossing or crossing, workers must cross to this crossing or crossing, carefully inspect the crossing area, and then return to the sidewalk.

27. When loading snow in unlit driveways and at night, the snow loader must turn on the red marker light directed towards the moving vehicle.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Intel retires Direct Rambus DRAM (DR DRAM) 27.02.2000

Intel abandoned the public promotion of the Direct Rambus DRAM (DR DRAM) memory standard, which it started back in October 1997 at the Microprocessor Forum.

Then Intel and Rambus announced their intention to bring this technology to market in 1999. Intel admitted that it was a mistake to impose the wrong ideology on the market and recognized the Double Date Rate DRAM (DDR DRAM) memory standard that had developed on the market.

Now Intel has made an effort to create a new memory architecture and is leading the development of the post-DDR II memory standard by major memory manufacturers (Samsung Electronics, Hyundai MicroElectronics, Micron Technology, Infineon Technologies, NEC-Hitachi Memory Inc.). Like DR DRAM, the new memory standard will be licensed to other memory manufacturers not on the list of developers for a fee.

Mass production of the new memory standard will begin in 2004-2005.
