The basic principles of ensuring labor protection correlate with the general principles of ensuring safety, protection against random adverse events.

The basic principles of ensuring labor protection include the basic principles of ensuring labor safety, but are supplemented by social protection measures.

The first and fundamental principle of labor protection - Prevention of occupational injuries and occupational morbidity. All measures of labor protection and all its parts, for example, labor safety, labor hygiene, are aimed at this.

To prevent in time is the main goal, the main task and the basic principle of its implementation in labor protection. No wonder the Russian folk proverb says: "Beware of troubles while they are not!".

The second fundamental principle of labor protection - readiness to protect victims. It stems from the impossibility of ensuring absolute security.

This principle plays an exceptional role in labor protection. At present, in our country, as in most developed countries of the world, it is implemented through a system of compulsory social insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases.

So, the first practical step that needs to be taken, based on the requirements of the basic principle of ensuring labor protection, is the organization and implementation of preventive measures, the prevention of industrial injuries and occupational morbidity.

We have already said above that the definition of labor safety and security is inextricably linked with the concept of unacceptable risk.

Labor protection, as a certain subsystem for ensuring the safety of the labor activity of an individual member of society and the production activity of society as a whole, is also inextricably linked with the concept of risk, which in this branch of human activity is often called socially acceptable risk.

As part of preventive measures, it is necessary to fully implement all necessary labor safety measures, as well as measures of social partnership between the employer and employees in labor protection. Note that these activities, in our opinion, include both employee training and stimulation of their internal motivation for safe work. Thus, ensuring labor safety and social partnership between employees and the employer are the most important measures to prevent occupational injuries and occupational morbidity.

To implement the second basic principle, labor protection offers a whole range of measures to minimize the consequences of the manifestation of occupational risks in the form of SOCIAL PROTECTION for workers working in adverse working conditions or injured at work as a result of those manifestations of industrial hazards that could not be prevented by a set of preventive measures.

As part of the second basic principle of labor protection, its activities include:

  • compensation to employees for difficult, harmful and dangerous working conditions;
  • compensation for harm to the victim by the tortfeasor;
  • rehabilitation of the victims.

Moreover, in an effort to minimize the costs of society for all of the above measures, compulsory social insurance of occupational risks - accidents at work and occupational diseases - is envisaged and implemented.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Data transmission from the brain to the computer through the veins 15.04.2019

Scientists are actively developing interfaces for transferring data from the brain to a computer, and they all have a huge disadvantage - the implementation is carried out through an open operation. The technology allows paralyzed people to communicate using a computer, but surgery can cause seizures and strokes. To solve this problem, Synchron developed the Stentrode brain implant, which can be passed to the brain along the inside of the veins that carry blood away from the neck and head. This approach eliminates the need for surgery.

The implantable device is proposed to be brought to the brain through the jugular vein. Implantation in tissues, according to researchers, takes about two weeks, and does not harm the human body - this was found out during animal testing. Most recently, the company received approval to conduct human trials - the device will be tested on five patients with impaired mouth and hand function.

The technology involves constant monitoring of people's brain activity, which puts their privacy at risk. The company assures that it will not use and transfer this data for other purposes - in the contract, patients give permission to conduct an experiment, and not to process information.

This does not mean that the interface will not be used for other purposes. Researchers believe that by implanting an implant in the brain, it is possible to create exoskeletons and avatar robots that instantly execute human commands.
