First aid - this is a complex of the simplest medical actions performed directly at the scene, as soon as possible after an injury (damage). As a rule, it is associated with emergency resuscitation of the victim.

emergency resuscitation - this is the revival of those dying from the action of such factors as electric shock, mechanical injuries, drowning, etc., carried out with the help of special measures aimed at removing the victims from terminal states and preventing their development.

Terminal states characterized as extreme states, transitional from life to death. All of them are reversible, recovery is possible at all stages.

The dynamics of dying is characterized by a sequential chain of events: cessation of the heart or its fibrillation (oscillations of the heart fibers with a frequency of 400-600 times per 1 minute), circulatory arrest, rapid loss of consciousness (within a few seconds), pupil dilation (for 20-30 seconds) , respiratory arrest and other terminal states, depending on the circumstances. Then comes clinical (reversible) death, and 5-7 minutes after it - biological (irreversible) death.

Therefore, the whole complex of resuscitation measures should be carried out immediately after the onset of terminal conditions, which often develop even in quite viable victims. First aid should be provided in the first 4 minutes after the defeat, up to a maximum of 5 minutes (with the exception of cases of drowning) !!!

The following procedure must be observed:

1. As soon as possible, release the victim from the effects of traumatic factors: separate from the current-carrying element; remove (take out) from the contaminated atmosphere; put out burning clothes; extract from water, etc.

2. Diagnose the type, nature and severity of the lesion, injury, assess the condition of the victim.

3. Determine the type of assistance needed - first medical or resuscitation.

4. Proceed to the provision of resuscitation or first aid in accordance with existing recommendations, to the full extent of the established complexes.

5. Constantly monitor the general condition of the victim, the correctness of the conduct and effectiveness of the measures taken.

6. In any condition of the victim, but especially in case of a threat to life and after removing him from a terminal state, call an ambulance or a doctor (paramedic).

If this is not possible, take all measures to evacuate the victim by any (including unsuitable) transport to the nearest medical facility.

7. Constantly monitor and maintain the vital systems of the victim - breathing, blood circulation - until the arrival of a medical worker, or throughout the evacuation.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Combat lasers for bombers 07.06.2017

The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) will develop a combat laser for the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress multifunctional heavy strategic bomber.

It is no secret that large and clumsy bombers are easy prey for enemy missiles. Such, for example, is the main long-range bomber aircraft of the US Air Force - the legendary B-52, or "Flying Fortress". On the one hand, it can carry on board up to 31,5 tons of various weapons, or 51 pieces of ammunition, including nuclear weapons. The bomber has one of the most powerful electronic warfare systems among US combat aircraft.

It includes equipment for creating misleading and noise interference, heat traps and dipole reflectors, and B-52 bombers of some modifications are equipped with electronic suppression systems designed to suppress enemy radar stations, jammers, radar exposure warning equipment, and a pulse-Doppler protection station. tail and jammers.

On the other hand, due to its large dimensions and maximum takeoff weight of almost 230 tons, the strategic bomber has poor maneuverability and is not able to evade enemy missiles. Therefore, the Americans decided to equip it with laser weapons, which will be designed primarily to protect the B-52 from missiles. Moreover, the combat laser should not blind the ammunition guidance systems, knocking them off the target, but physically destroy them.

AFRL believes that a laser system aboard a multifunctional heavy strategic bomber will more effectively protect it from enemy threats. The project was named SHIELD ("Shield") and should be implemented within five years. During this time, researchers should develop overhead containers with combat lasers that can be used not only on B-52s, but also on US Air Force C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft.
