Mobile solar power plants of the EMS series

Power supply:

  • temporary headquarters and field hospitals of the Ministry of Emergency Situations;
  • posts and block posts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the border service, the Russian army and other special departments;
  • temporary base camps for fishermen, hunters, tourists, climbers, geologists, prospectors, builders;
  • stationary objects of mobile and space communications, stationary and mobile radio stations, professional and amateur video cameras, means of visual and technical control, television and radio receivers, laptop computers, lighting equipment and other devices with an operating voltage of 1,5 to 12 V.

Figure 2.2 shows a solar mobile power station of the EMS-140 type, and figure 2.3 shows an autonomous solar power station with a sun tracking system.

As backup power: for uninterrupted operation systems when centralized and local electrical networks are turned off.

Charging: Accumulators with a rated operating voltage of 6 and 12 V.; all types of mobile radiotelephones, satellite phones through car adapters included in their package.

Mobile solar power plants are manufactured in several modifications and differ in output power, the design of the solar panels used and the battery capacity.

All power stations are completed with a daylight lamp, switching devices and connecting cords. The body of the control unit and the battery container are made of plastic, and the bags-cases and covers are made of durable material, which makes it convenient to transport and store mobile solar power plants.

Stationary power plant with a solar battery with a capacity of 1 kW

Solar modules of the KM series can be connected in series and in parallel. With the help of these connections, such technical parameters of the total solar battery (current strength, output voltage, power) are created that, when it is operated at different latitudes, correspond to the parameters required by the consumer.

The minimum power of solar panels for 12 Volt batteries is 15; thirty; 30 watts.

The maximum power of a solar battery is limited only by the area on which it is installed.

The buffer batteries are maintenance-free lead batteries with a capacity of 100,200 or more Ampere hours. These batteries are charged by powerful charging and protection devices.

These products provide a total charging current of up to 12 Amps (6 Amps for each channel from two solar panels). At the same time, the processes of recharging and deep discharge of the battery are controlled in automatic mode, which significantly increases its service life.

The principle of operation of solar power plants is based on:

  • direct conversion of solar energy into electrical energy;
  • accumulation and storage of this electrical energy in a buffer battery;
  • providing power to consumers in the required form through a voltage converter, current converter and switching devices.

Stationary solar power plants of the ESS series are designed to provide electricity to:

  • stationary, temporary or mobile facilities located in isolation from centralized electrical networks;
  • backup power for uninterrupted operation systems in case of disconnection of centralized or local electrical networks.

Products of the ESS series are not mass-produced, but are designed, manufactured and installed by specialists for an individual customer and specific technical and operational requirements.

As converters of solar energy into electrical energy in power plants of the ESS series, solar modules of the KM series are used, manufactured using a unique technology of three-stage amorphous silicon. Operational characteristics, namely resistance to external mechanical influences (impact, bending) allows using them (in addition to solar-to-electrical energy converters) as a roofing material.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Apple's eye-tracking 3D interface 18.02.2012

Apple decided to relate the user interface to the user's position and other external conditions in which he works while operating the phone. The paper was titled "XNUMXD UI Effects on Screen Using Motion Properties".

According to the patent application, a full set of sensors built into mobile devices is used to process the interface: a digital compass, a GPS module, an accelerometer and a gyroscope. They determine the location of the gadget, its orientation, the state of movement and other external conditions with great accuracy. And the front camera "aims" at the user's eyes and tracks the direction of his gaze. The combination of all these elements allows you to create "more realistic virtual 3D images of objects on the screen of the device" on the smartphone screen.

The main difference between stereoscopic screens and real 3D displays is the simple fact that when you change the position of the head, the angle of objects on stereoscopic systems does not change. However, using tracking technology, even on a simple "flat" screen, the illusion of 3D objects can be created. Moreover, the system assumes the use of a light sensor, and if screen objects cast a shadow, then the position of the shadow will change when the display is rotated relative to the light source.
