Occupational Safety and Health / Legislative basis for labor protection

Compensations - monetary payments established for the purpose of reimbursement to employees of the costs associated with the performance by them of labor or other duties provided for by federal laws.

According to Article 219 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation "The right of an employee to work in conditions that meet the requirements of labor protection", each employee has the right to compensation established in accordance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, a collective agreement, agreement, local regulation, labor contract, if he is employed in heavy work, work with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions.

The amount of compensation to employees engaged in hard work, work with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions, and the conditions for their provision are established in the manner determined by the Government of the Russian Federation, taking into account the opinion of the Russian tripartite commission for the regulation of social and labor relations. Increased or additional compensations for work in hard work, work with harmful and (or) dangerous working conditions may be established by a collective agreement, local regulatory act, taking into account the financial and economic situation of the employer.

In the event that safe working conditions are ensured at workplaces, confirmed by the results of attestation of workplaces in terms of working conditions or the conclusion of the state examination of working conditions, compensation to employees is not established.

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior.
