fundamentals of geodesy, hydraulic engineering, hydrology, hydrogeology;
design and estimate documentation;
appointment of hydraulic structures;
technology of operation of hydraulic structures and facilities;
technical documentation;
the use of tools, devices and the use of mechanisms;
rules and norms of labor protection, industrial sanitation, fire protection
requirements of environmental and sanitary authorities regarding harm to the environment;
planning and procedure for carrying out repair and maintenance work;
technical characteristics, design features and operating modes of reclamation facilities.

Qualification requirements:

Hydraulic technician category I: secondary vocational education in the relevant field of training (bachelor or junior specialist) and advanced training. Work experience in the position of category II hydraulic engineer - at least 1 year.
Hydraulic technician category II: secondary vocational education in the relevant field of training (bachelor or junior specialist) and advanced training. Minimum 2 years of experience as a hydraulic engineer.
Hydraulic technician: Basic or incomplete higher education in the relevant field of training (bachelor or junior specialist) - no work experience requirements.

II. Official duties

The Hydraulic Technician performs the following duties:

Ensures the implementation of a set of works related to maintaining the hydraulic structures and facilities assigned to him in proper technical condition, and is responsible for their correct technical operation.
Monitors the implementation of repair work in accordance with design and estimate documentation on the canal, hydraulic structures, and water outlets that it serves.
Participates in the work of the commission to inspect the objects assigned to him, to compile defective reports on the technical condition of hydraulic facilities on the site, examines technical defects in structures and their impact on the operation of reclamation systems, and takes measures to eliminate them.
Introduces new equipment and small-scale mechanization equipment for technical maintenance of buildings and facilities and for carrying out repair and maintenance work.
Takes measures to ensure trouble-free passage of floods and floods and prepare reclamation systems for the growing season.
Maintaining primary information and reporting documentation, participates in the development of water intake plans, and is responsible for the timely and uninterrupted supply of water to water users according to schedules.
Monitors employees' compliance with the rules for the technical operation of elements of the reclamation network, structures and facilities, compliance with the rules and regulations of labor protection, industrial sanitation and fire protection, and labor discipline.

III. Rights

The hydraulic engineer has the right to:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding its activities.
Participate in the discussion of issues related to the performance of his duties.
Make suggestions for improving the work related to the provisions of this instruction.
Within the limits of his competence, inform his immediate supervisor about all those identified in the course of his activities, and make proposals for their elimination.
Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of their duties.

For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties, as well as for non-use or directly to their rights provided for by this Job Description - to the extent determined by the current legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation on labor of Ukraine.

Intel introduced a chip for mobile devices with support for WiMax 26.10.2006

Intel Corporation introduced a single-chip (system-on-a-chip) solution for mobile devices with support for the WiMax standard - the WiMax Connection 2250 chip.

The novelty is based on the specifications of the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard for stationary devices, however, as Intel promises, support for mobile use of the chip will be implemented through a software update. WiMax Connection 2250 is a revised version of Pro/Wireless 5116 introduced in 2004 for the fixed version of the standard.

Commercial deliveries of WiMax Connection 2250 should begin before the end of this year. The first devices based on the chip will go on sale next year. Motorola, Alvarion, Airspan Networks, Alcatel, Aperto Networks, Redline Communications and Siemens have already made statements about using the Intel solution in their products.

Recall that WiMax (World wide Interoperability for Microwave Access) networks are positioned as a means of connecting WLANs to the Internet and as a replacement for DSL as the "last mile".
