Can ocean tide be used?

If you have ever been to the sea, you have probably paid attention to the difference in the water level near the shore at high and low tide. In some places in the world it is as much as 12 meters.

Kirin 8 octa-core processor with support for VoLTE and QHD screens 15.06.2014

The Chinese company Huawei officially introduced the eight-core processor Kirin 920 for mobile devices. The first product based on this platform is likely to be a smartphone codenamed Mulan.

The announced platform, built on the big.LITTLE GTS (Global Task Scheduling) architecture using a 28-nm process technology, includes four ARM Cortex A-15 cores with clock speeds from 1,7 to 2,0 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A7 c frequency 1,3-1,6 GHz. The chipset includes a built-in Category 6 LTE modem capable of providing data transfer at speeds up to 300 Mbps. Support for VoLTE technology is also announced.

The GPU Mali-T628 MP4 is responsible for the graphics component in the system-on-a-chip, which provides support for QHD screens (2560x1600 pixels) in mobile devices. In the configuration of a single-chip system, the Tensilica HiFi 3 audio processor, support for the H.265 codec and the function of decoding media files in Ultra HD format are also announced.

During the presentation of Kirin 920, comparative results of testing processors in the AnTuTu benchmark were presented. According to Huawei, its new product is slightly faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and much faster than the MediaTek MT6592 platform.

The Chinese manufacturer did not name the time frame during which the Kirin 920 will appear in consumer electronics. At the same time, the developers promise the release of a 64-bit version of the processor before the end of 2015.
