The AF power amplifier offered to the attention of readers, despite its simplicity, can be used in a household stereo complex. It has high thermal stability, operates from an unstabilized power source. The amplifier is easily repeatable, does not require the selection of transistors for the final and final stages.

The main technical characteristics of the amplifier: nominal input voltage - 0.7 V; input impedance - 50 kOhm; rated output power at a frequency of 1 kHz - 70 W at a load of 4 ohms and 35 W at a load of 8 ohms; the range of amplified frequencies with a frequency response unevenness of not more than 1 dB - 10 ... 30 Hz; harmonic coefficient at rated output power and in the specified frequency range - no more than 000%; relative noise level - no more than -0,1 dB; output impedance - 95 Ohm.

Schematic diagram of the amplifier is shown in the figure.

Simple UMZCH

The voltage amplifier is assembled on a high-voltage op amp KR1408UD1 (DA1), the final stage is on transistors of different structures KT972A (VT1) and KT973A (VT2), and the final current amplifier is on transistors KT908A (VT3, VT4). The phase inverter functions are performed by a cascade on the transistor VT2. The amplifier is covered by the OOS circuit. The OOS voltage is removed from its output and fed through the divider R3R2 to the inverting input of the op-amp DA1. The output voltage is almost equal to the voltage at the output of the op-amp. The gain of the entire device is K= 1+R3/R2.

To eliminate distortions of the "step" type, a small bias voltage is applied to the bases of transistors VT1, VT2, which is created on the chain of diodes VD1-VD4.

The quiescent current of the device does not exceed 20 ... 30 mA, to stabilize it, the VD1-VD4 diodes must have thermal contact with the heat sinks of the output stage transistors. The R9C4 circuit prevents the amplifier from self-exciting at higher audio frequencies and when the load is turned off. For the same purpose, capacitors C2, C3 are installed. They must be placed near the DA1 chip.

When assembling the amplifier, fixed resistors MLT-0,125 (R1 - R4) and MLT-0.5 (R6 - R9) were used. All capacitors - KM-6. Diodes D220 can be replaced by any high-frequency. It is not recommended to use other microcircuits and transistors, as this will lead to a change in the parameters of the UMZCH. The terminal transistors are mounted on heat sinks with an area of 400 cm2.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Artificial uterus for premature babies 07.05.2017

A plastic container that completely imitates the internal organs of the mother is now being successfully tested on lambs, and they plan to test it on humans within 3–5 years.

The statistics, alas, are sad: among premature babies born at 22-24 weeks of pregnancy, only 10% survive. In addition, these babies have poorly developed vital organs, many of them may develop deafness, blindness or cerebral palsy at first.

Dr. Alan Flake of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the United States, along with his colleagues, has created an artificial womb that will help "carry" a child.

The device reproduces the uterine environment as closely as possible and replaces the function of the placenta. It is a plastic container that is filled with a liquid that mimics amniotic fluid in composition. The baby's umbilical cord is connected to the gas exchange system - it replaces the mother's placenta and supports the baby with oxygen. Unlike incubators, an artificial uterus protects the newborn from infections.

During the experiments, Flake's team placed lambs born at 15-17 weeks (roughly equivalent to human newborns at 21-24 weeks) in an artificial womb. The animals stayed there for 4 weeks, after which they were carefully examined. Test results showed that the lambs had well-formed lungs and brains and were generally healthy.

Alan Flake's British colleagues note that the device he developed can already be called a breakthrough: doctors have been trying to create an artificial uterus for years. However, it is too early to put it into practice - there are several years of laboratory tests ahead. Flake needs to make sure the device is safe for babies. Also, the author of the project wants to slightly modify the device: reduce the size, add several functions and install a camera so that parents can watch how their child develops and feels.

Is it possible in this circuit to increase the power supply of the transistors of the output stage to + -40-56 volts, thereby increasing the output power and another question is the power supply of the microcircuit through the stabilizer, which is simple when the power is increased?
