fundamentals of production technology of the enterprise;
organization of welding works in the industry and at the enterprise;
production capacities, technical characteristics, design features and operating modes of welding equipment, rules of its operation;
procedure and methods for planning technological preparation of production and performance of welding work;
methods and methods of welding;
regulations, instructions and other guidance materials on the development and execution of technical documentation;
technical requirements for materials used in welding, their consumption rates;
organization of repair of welding equipment;
types of welding defects and ways to eliminate them;
methods of conducting research and development in the field of improving technology and organizing welding work;
standards and technical specifications for welding work, building codes and regulations;
advanced domestic and foreign experience in the field of technology and organization of welding work;
fundamentals of economics, organization of production, labor and management;
fundamentals of environmental legislation;

When transferring to another job or being released from a position, the chief welder is responsible for the proper and timely delivery of work to the person taking up the current position, and in the absence of one, to the person replacing him or directly to his supervisor.

II. Official duties

Chief Welder:

Manages the technological preparation of welding work, ensures the production and release of high-quality products, improvement of product designs, their manufacturability, environmental friendliness, and high labor productivity.
Provides technical management to departments entrusted with the development and implementation of welding processes and technological equipment for welding operations.
Heads the development of long-term and current plans for the technological preparation of welding operations, schedules for preventive maintenance and major repairs of welding equipment, planning the timing and volume of work, the costs of labor and material resources.
Studies and analyzes the technology and quality of welding work, equipment operating conditions, organizes the development and introduction into production of progressive welding methods that reduce labor costs, comply with labor and environmental safety standards, save material and energy resources when performing welding work, and improve their quality .
Monitors the development of the necessary technical documentation and the provision of production with it, strict adherence to welding technological regimes, material consumption standards, rules for the technical operation of equipment and the safe conduct of work.
Provides preparation of requests for equipment and materials required to perform welding work, organization of accounting of welding equipment, and its certification.
Participates in the consideration of issues of reconstruction and technical re-equipment of the enterprise, takes measures to introduce new welding equipment, comprehensive mechanization and automation of technological processes.
Manages the design and creation of new production units performing welding work, their specialization and loading of equipment, taking into account the requirements of rational labor organization and safety regulations, ensures timely development of design capacity, increasing the shift ratio of equipment.
Organizes the development and implementation of measures to introduce advanced equipment and technology, improve the use of technological equipment and accessories, production areas, improve the quality and reliability of welded structures.
Reviews and gives reviews and conclusions on the most complex rationalization proposals and inventions relating to welding methods and technology, organization of welding work and improvement of welding equipment.
Organizes the implementation of work related to increasing the level of specialization and cooperation of production, using reserves to increase labor productivity.
Manages research and experimental work to improve methods and technology for welding work.
Participates in the work to determine the enterprise’s need for qualified welders and prepare for their certification in the prescribed manner.
Organizes work on the study and implementation of scientific and technical achievements, advanced domestic and foreign experience in technological preparation and performance of welding work.
Coordinates the activities of departments and employees of the enterprise carrying out technological preparation for welding work, organizes work to improve their qualifications.

III. Rights

The chief welder has the right:

to give instructions to subordinate employees and services, tasks on a range of issues included in his functional duties.
control the fulfillment of production tasks, the timely execution of individual orders by subordinate services and divisions.
request and receive the necessary materials and documents related to the issues of its activities and the activities of its subordinate services and divisions.
interact with other enterprises, organizations and institutions on production and other issues that are part of his functional duties.
get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding the activities of the Division.
propose for consideration by the manager proposals for improving the work related to the duties provided for in this Job Description.
submit proposals for the appointment, transfer and dismissal of employees of a subordinate unit, proposals for encouraging distinguished employees, imposing penalties on violators of production and labor discipline for consideration by the head.
report to the manager on all identified violations and shortcomings in connection with the work performed.
communicate with representatives of the press, transfer official information to other organizations as an employee of the enterprise:

only with the permission of the immediate supervisor;
within the framework of the functions performed by the position;
on all matters related to your field of activity in the enterprise.

causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.
compliance with current instructions, orders and orders for the preservation of trade secrets and confidential information.
compliance with internal regulations, safety and fire safety rules.

Chemical engineering specialists from New York University, USA, demonstrated their new, unusual design of a unique type of magnet, discovered not so long ago during a parallel study of the properties of certain types of uranium and antimony. Specialists have identified a new type of magnet as a "sweatshirt magnet", naming it so because this type of magnet has the unique ability to change its magnetic properties, switching from a magnetized state to a demagnetized state.
