I. General Provisions

  1. The tractor driver is a worker.
  2. The tractor driver reports directly to the foreman (shift supervisor, head of another structural unit).
  3. In his work, the tractor driver is guided by:
  • technical regulatory legal acts, other guidance materials regulating the performance of work entrusted to the tractor driver;
  • orders, instructions from the head of the organization (chief engineer), instructions from the immediate supervisor;
  • labor safety instructions for tractor drivers, approved by the head of the organization;
  • this Instruction.
  1. Tractor driver of the 3rd-8th category should know:
  • design and technical characteristics of the serviced tractor, trailed and mounted equipment, engines, accessories;
  • control system;
  • brands and consumption rates of fuels and lubricants;
  • rules for loading, stacking, slinging and unloading cargo;
  • lubrication, power and cooling systems for internal combustion engines;
  • Traffic Laws;
  • methods of installation and dismantling of attachments;
  • rules for the production of work with trailers and attachments;
  • rules for compiling a defective statement;
  • the procedure for issuing documents for the work performed;
  • the technological process of the work performed;
  • rules for technical operation and care of equipment, devices and tools used in the process of work;
  • methods for identifying and eliminating, if necessary, current problems that arise during the execution of work;
  • requirements for the quality of work performed;
  • automatic control and alarm system, rules for controlling lifting and transport equipment and rules for performing slinging work, moving and storing cargo, where this is provided for by the organization of labor at the workplace;
  • instructions for the safe maintenance of the workplace;
  • the procedure for actions aimed at preventing emergency situations;
  • procedure for action in the event of accidents and situations that may lead to undesirable consequences;
  • requirements for the use of protective equipment;
  • the procedure for notifying the manager of all deficiencies discovered during work;
  • rules for providing first (pre-medical) aid to victims of injury, poisoning, or sudden illness;
  • rules for environmental protection during the performance of work;
  • fundamentals of labor legislation, contractual regulation of labor relations, incl. in the field of remuneration and labor standards, the content of the organization’s collective agreement and the procedure for negotiating its conclusion;
  • forms and systems of remuneration established in the organization, their features, the procedure for establishing and revising tariff rates, norms and prices;
  • the procedure and features of billing and retariffing of works and workers;
  • basic provisions and forms of training, retraining and advanced training of workers in production;
  • rules of internal labor regulations;
  • rules of labor protection, industrial sanitation and personal hygiene, fire safety.
  1. The tractor driver is obliged to perform work related to the acceptance and delivery of shifts, timely preparation for operation of equipment and the workplace, tools, devices, as well as maintaining them in proper condition, cleaning his workplace, and maintaining established documentation.
  2. The tractor driver periodically undergoes knowledge testing on occupational health and safety, and the rules of providing first aid to victims.

II. Official duties

Tractor driver of the 3rd category:

  1. Operates tractors of various systems operating on liquid fuel when transporting various loads, machines, mechanisms, metal structures of various weights and dimensions using trailed and mounted equipment and accessories.
  2. Drives a tractor with engine power up to 44,2 kW (up to 60 hp).
  3. Inspects and fills the tractor with fuel and lubricants.
  4. Lubricates moving parts and components.
  5. Supervises the loading, securing and unloading of transported goods.
  6. Performs routine repairs and participates in other types of repairs of tractors, trailed and mounted equipment.
  7. Compiling defect reports.

Tractor driver of the 4rd category:

  1. Controls a tractor with an engine power of over 44,2 to 73,5 kW (over 60 to 100 hp).

Tractor driver of the 5rd category:

  1. Controls a tractor with an engine power of over 73,5 to 147 kW (over 100 to 200 hp).

Tractor driver of the 6rd category:

  1. Controls a tractor with an engine power of over 147 to 279 kW (over 200 to 380 hp).

Tractor driver of the 7rd category:

  1. Operates a tractor with an engine power of over 279 to 367 kW exclusively (over 380 to 500 hp exclusively).

Tractor driver of the 8rd category:

  1. Operates a tractor with an engine power of 367 kW or more (500 hp or more).

III. Rights

The tractor driver has the right:

  1. To provide personal protective equipment, tools, necessary materials, and an equipped workplace; to create normal conditions for labor protection;
  2. Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding its activities.
  3. Participate in the discussion of issues related to their official duties.
  4. Submit proposals for the improvement of the work related to the duties provided for in this instruction for consideration by your immediate supervisor.
  5. Within the limits of his competence, inform his immediate supervisor of all shortcomings identified in the course of the performance of official duties and make proposals for their elimination.

IV. A responsibility

The tractor operator is responsible for:

  1. For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
  2. For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
  3. For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.
