I. General Provisions

A person who has a higher professional education and at least 5 years of experience in the specialty, copyright certificates for inventions or scientific works is appointed to the position of a researcher; in the presence of a scientific degree - without presenting requirements for work experience.
Appointment to the position of a researcher and dismissal from it is carried out by order of the director of the organization on the proposal of _______.

modern methods and means of planning and organizing research and development, conducting experiments and observations, summarizing and processing information, including with the use of electronic computers;

II. Official duties

Researcher:

Conducts research and development on individual sections (stages, tasks) of the topic as a responsible executor or together with a supervisor, carries out complex experiments and observations.
Collects, processes, analyzes and summarizes scientific and technical information, advanced domestic and foreign experience, results of experiments and observations.
Participates in the preparation of plans and methodological research and development programs, practical recommendations for the implementation of their results.
Compiles reports (sections of the report) on a topic or its section (stage, task).
Participates in the implementation of research and development results.

III. Rights

The researcher has the right:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the organization's management regarding its activities.
On issues within its competence, submit for consideration by the management of the organization:

proposals for improving the activities of the organization and improving the working methods of employees;
comments on the activities of employees of the organization;
options for eliminating shortcomings in the organization's activities.

Request personally or on behalf of the management of the organization from the departments of the organization and other specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.
Require the management of the organization to assist in the performance of his duties and rights.

IV. A responsibility

The researcher is responsible for:

improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.

Mathematics to help the postman 19.11.2005

Mathematicians are familiar with the so-called traveling salesman problem. It is proposed to calculate the shortest route between a certain number of points, and each point can be visited only once. When there are many points, the task becomes extremely difficult. So, on a standard modern personal computer, calculating a path between just a hundred points will take several years of continuous work.

The French company "Eurobios" has developed a new program that allows you to quickly solve such problems. Starting from February 2005, the Danish Post started testing the program "Eurobios" to calculate the shortest path for postmen when delivering mail on the island of Funen. The first week of testing showed that the program speeds up the delivery of mail by 10% and, moreover, reduces the path of each postman by as much as 20%.

Meanwhile, in the delivery of mail (at least in Denmark), the most expensive thing is not its transportation between different cities, but delivery from the post office to the apartment. It takes up to 70% of the total cost of the mail. Shortening each postman's journey by a few minutes a day could save the Danish Post several million euros a year.
