I. General Provisions

A person who has an academic degree of doctor or candidate of science, scientific works or copyright certificates for inventions, as well as major projects and developments implemented in practice is appointed to the position of leading researcher.
Appointment to a position and dismissal from it are made by order of the director of the organization upon presentation.
The lead researcher should know:

scientific problems in the relevant field of knowledge, science and technology, directions of development of the economic sector, guidance materials from higher and other bodies, domestic and foreign achievements on these issues;
the latest methods, tools and practices of planning, organizing, conducting and implementing scientific research and development (assessment, patent information support, production of scientific and technical documentation, etc.);
forms of economic incentives and material incentives for workers;
current legislature;
organization of production, labor and management;
rules and regulations of labor protection.

II. Official duties

Leading Researcher:

Provides scientific supervision of research on individual problems (topics, tasks) of science and technology and heads a group of workers engaged in them or is the responsible executor of individual tasks of scientific and technical programs.
Develops scientific and technical solutions to the most complex problems, methods for conducting research and development, and selects the necessary means for this.
Justifies the directions of new research and development and methods for their implementation, makes proposals for inclusion in research plans.
Organizes the preparation of a work program, coordinates the activities of co-executors when they are carried out jointly with other institutions (organizations), and summarizes the results obtained.
Determines the scope of application of the results of scientific research and development and organizes the practical implementation of these results.
Provides training of scientific personnel and participates in advanced training.

III. Rights

The Leading Researcher has the right to:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the organization's management regarding its activities.
On issues within his competence, submit proposals for the consideration of the organization’s management to improve the organization’s activities and improve working methods; comments on the activities of the organization’s employees; options for eliminating existing shortcomings in the organization’s activities.
Request personally or on behalf of the management of the organization from the heads of departments and specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.
Involve specialists from all (individual) structural divisions in solving the tasks assigned to him (if this is provided for by the regulations on structural divisions, if not, then with the permission of the head).
Require the management of the organization to assist in the performance of his duties and rights.

IV. A responsibility

The Leading Researcher is responsible for:

For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties, as well as for non-use or directly to their rights provided for by this Job Description - to the extent determined by the current legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation on labor of Ukraine.
