I. General Provisions

The physiologist belongs to the category of specialists.
Qualification requirements for the position:

a physiologist is appointed a person who has a higher professional (biological or medical) education without presenting requirements for work experience;
category II physiologist - a person who has a higher professional (biological or medical) education and at least 3 years of work experience as a physiologist;
category I physiologist - a person with a higher professional (biological or medical) education and work experience as a category II physiologist for at least 3 years.

Appointment to the position of a physiologist and dismissal from it is carried out by order of the director of the organization on the proposal of the head of the organization and remuneration.
The physiologist must know:

resolutions, orders, orders, other governing and regulatory documents of higher and other bodies relating to the organization of labor and production management;
methods for studying the physiological characteristics of the labor activity of workers;
technical means used in the study of working conditions;
advanced domestic and foreign experience of work of physiologists who study the features of labor activity in various professions and positions;
basics of production technology;
fundamentals of economics, organization of labor and management;
labor legislation;
rules of internal labor regulations;
rules and norms of labor protection, safety measures, industrial sanitation and fire protection.

The physiologist reports directly to _______.
During the absence of a physiologist (vacation, illness, business trip, etc.), his duties are performed by a person appointed by order of the director of the enterprise.

II. Official duties

Physiologist:

It studies the features of the labor activity of employees of the enterprise in order to ensure optimal physiological working conditions and increase its efficiency.
Conducts, together with a psychologist, medical and physiological studies of the influence of working conditions on the body of workers.
Examines the individual characteristics of workers of various professions and positions, associated with the influence of psychophysiological factors on their work.
Composes physiological characteristics that determine the intensity, severity (harmfulness) of labor (posture of the worker, working movements, their monotony, contact with harmful or toxic substances, noise, vibration, illumination, dustiness of the workplace, microclimate, etc.).
Develops recommendations for determining the most rational modes of work and rest, organizing jobs, reducing the cost of muscular and nervous energy, reducing fatigue, creating conditions for maintaining the health of workers.
Gives opinions on projects of newly created or modernized tools, equipment in order to monitor compliance with their compliance with the anthropometric data of workers.
Performs individual official assignments of his immediate supervisor.

III. Rights

The physiologist has the right:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding its activities.
Make proposals for improving the work related to the responsibilities provided for in this instruction.
Within the limits of his competence, report to his immediate supervisor about all the shortcomings identified in the course of his activities and make proposals for their elimination.
To request personally or on behalf of his immediate supervisor from the heads of departments of the enterprise and specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.
Involve specialists from all (individual) structural divisions in solving the tasks assigned to him (if this is provided for by the regulations on structural divisions, if not, then with the permission of the head of the enterprise).
Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of his duties and rights.

IV. A responsibility

The physiologist is responsible for:

For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.

Lonely and unhappy people age faster than smokers 03.10.2022

According to a new study by Deep Longevity, mental health affects the rate of aging more than smoking and certain diseases. Especially vulnerable to premature aging were lonely and unhappy people who do not sleep well.

With age, various molecular damage accumulates in our cells, contributing to the overall aging of the body and the development of various diseases. In some people, these molecular processes are more intense than in others. This condition is commonly referred to as accelerated aging.

Deep Longevity is developing models that predict the rate of aging based on epigenetic changes, end-of-chromosome changes (telomeres), gene expression, and concentrations of various metabolites. However, now a team of American and Chinese scientists have shown that any such therapy should not only focus on physical but also mental health.

As a result, the researchers found signs of accelerated aging in people with a history of stroke, liver and lung disease, in smokers, and in people who are in a vulnerable mental state. It turned out that the feeling of loneliness and unhappiness, anxiety and poor sleep increase the biological age of a person even more than smoking. Other factors associated with the acceleration of aging include living in rural areas, which is likely due to the low availability of medical services.

Thus, according to scientists, the psychological aspect of aging should not be neglected either in research or in the development of anti-aging therapy. Mental and psychosocial conditions are among the most reliable markers of health and quality of life, but they are practically not taken into account in the modern healthcare system.
