normal and pathological anatomy and physiology of human organs and systems;
the basics of water-electrolyte metabolism, acid-base balance, hemostasis in the age aspect;
modern classification of diseases;
clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of diseases of the cardiovascular system, disorders of cerebral and coronary circulation, musculoskeletal system;
methods of diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention for various pathologies;
general and special methods of examination;
basics of pharmacotherapy, methods of physiotherapy and exercise therapy;
organizing the work of the medical advisory and medical and social expert commission;
indications and contraindications for spa treatment;
fundamentals of rational nutrition, principles of diet therapy;
advanced information and Internet technologies;
modern scientific literature and scientific and practical periodicals in the specialty, methods of its analysis and generalization.

Qualification requirements:

Geriatrician of the highest qualification category: higher education (specialist, master) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "General Medicine". Completing an internship in the specialty “Therapy” with subsequent specialization in “Geriatrics”. Advanced training (advanced courses, internships, pre-certification cycles, etc.). Availability of a medical specialist certificate and a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of the highest qualification category in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than 10 years.
Geriatrician of the 7st qualification category: higher education (specialist, master's degree) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "General Medicine". Completing an internship in the specialty “Therapy” with subsequent specialization in “Geriatrics”. Advanced training (advanced courses, internships, pre-certification cycles, etc.). Availability of a medical specialist certificate and a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of the first qualification category in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than XNUMX years.
Geriatrician of the II qualification category: higher education (specialist, master) in the field of training “Medicine”, specialty “General Medicine”. Completing an internship in the specialty “Therapy” with subsequent specialization in “Geriatrics”. Advanced training (advanced courses, internships, pre-certification cycles, etc.). Availability of a medical specialist certificate and a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of qualification category II in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than 5 years.
Geriatrician: higher education (specialist, master's degree) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "General Medicine". Completing an internship in the specialty “Therapy” with subsequent specialization in “Geriatrics”. Availability of a medical specialist certificate. No work experience requirements.

II. Official duties

Guided by the current legislation of Ukraine on health care and regulations that determine the activities of government bodies and health care institutions, the organization of geriatric care.
Provides highly qualified medical, advisory, rehabilitation and preventive care to sick and healthy elderly people.
Supervises adverse reactions/effects of medicines.
Works closely with doctors of other specialties - therapists, cardiologists, neurologists, orthopedists.
Organizes and conducts patient consultations.
Supervises the work of paramedical staff.
Plans work and analyzes its results.
Adheres to the principles of medical deontology.
Maintains medical records.
Actively participates in promoting a healthy lifestyle, systematic physical exercise, hardening the body, and rational nutrition for elderly and senile people.
Conducts targeted work among the population to prevent premature aging.
Constantly improves his professional level, introduces modern treatment methods.

III. Rights

The geriatrician has the right:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding its activities.
Participate in the discussion of issues related to the performance of his duties.
Make suggestions for improving the work related to the provisions of this instruction.
Within the limits of his competence, inform his immediate supervisor about all those identified in the course of his activities, and make proposals for their elimination.
Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of their duties.

For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties, as well as for non-use or directly to their rights provided for by this Job Description - to the extent determined by the current legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation on labor of Ukraine.
