I. General Provisions

A creative director belongs to the category of leaders.
A person with a higher professional education, additional training in the field of management, and experience in advertising activities of at least (2 years; 3 years; etc.) is appointed to the position of creative director.
The creative director should know:

legislation on advertising, consumer protection, copyright and related rights, business activities;
market conditions for goods, works, services, incl. advertising services;
theory and practice of advertising marketing and management;
principles of organization of advertising activities;
general and special requirements for advertising;
methods, means and media of advertising;
features of advertising campaigns, forms and methods of conducting advertising campaigns;
design basics;
foundations of aesthetics, ethics, general and special psychology, sociology, philology;
graphic computer programs, tools;
means of computer technology, communications and communications;
the procedure for the development and conclusion of business contracts;
basics of business administration;
fundamentals of labor legislation;
rules and norms of labor protection, safety measures, industrial sanitation and fire protection.

Appointment to the position of creative director and dismissal from the position are made in the manner determined by the internal documents of the organization.

During the absence of the creative director (business trip, vacation, illness, etc.), his duties are performed by a person appointed in accordance with the established procedure. This person acquires the corresponding rights and is responsible for the proper performance of the duties assigned to him.

II. Official duties

Creative director:

Coordinates the work of the advertising department.
Coordinates with customers the main goals of advertising, determines the main points of the advertising project (promotion of goods, works or services to sales markets, familiarization with the customer’s corporate style).
Finds out from the customer the advantageous qualities and distinctive properties of goods, works, and services.
Determines the type of advertising (introductory, prestigious, product, promotion, sales promotion).
Develops concepts for advertising projects on orders, determines the type of advertising.
Distributes work among employees of the creative (advertising) team (team), explains to employees the main idea of the advertising project and the tasks for implementing the concept of the advertising project.
Takes direct part in the development of advertising media, prepares ad layouts (advertising scripts), and is responsible for the visual perception of the advertising product.
Coordinates the work of the advertising department from a creative point of view, monitors the creative process based on customer requirements.
Coordinates the creation of advertising messages, slogans (slogans, mottos) that most fully reflect the quality of the product, service, field of activity of the organization and most effectively influence the consciousness of the consumer.
Organizes the preparation of advertising materials (sketches, texts, scripts, original layouts (slides, films, video and audio recordings, magnetic recordings, etc.) for presentation to customers.
Ensures that adjustments are made to the advertising project based on comments and suggestions from customers.
Develops plans for carrying out advertising events (defining the “portrait” of the consumer, the purpose of the advertising campaign, the main idea of the advertising campaign, forms of advertising, the most optimal timing for placing advertising events, the main elements of the advertising campaign, methods for testing the effectiveness of advertising, etc.); determines specific advertising media (newspapers, magazines, commercials, etc.) and their optimal combination.
Prepares cost estimates for the implementation of an advertising project and submits them to customers for approval.
Conducts management of embodied creative concepts.
Establishes connections with printing houses, media, advertising agencies, studios, and other organizations.

III. Rights

The creative director has the right:

To include completed projects in a personal portfolio as author’s developments (developments of a team of authors headed by him).
Require the customer to provide reliable information about the advertised goods, works, and services.
Require management to ensure the organizational and technical conditions necessary for the performance of official duties.
Sign and endorse documents within their competence.
Get acquainted with the documents that define his rights and obligations in his position, the criteria for assessing the quality of performance of official duties.
Submit proposals for the management to improve the work related to the duties provided for in this job description.

IV. A responsibility

The creative director is responsible for:

For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits established by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
For offenses committed in the course of their activities - within the limits established by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
For causing material damage to the organization - within the limits established by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.
