I. General Provisions

  1. The system programmer belongs to the category of specialists.
  2. The system programmer must know:
  • fundamentals of informatics, higher mathematics;
  • fundamentals of the theory of algorithms, methods for constructing formal languages, basic data structures, fundamentals of computer graphics, architectural features and physical foundations of constructing modern PCs and computers;
  • basic data models and their organization;
  • system programming languages;
  • principles of building query languages ​​and data manipulation;
  • syntax, semantics and formal ways of describing programming languages, distributed and parallel programming constructs, methods and main stages of translation;
  • principles of building expert systems;
  • ways and mechanisms of data management;
  • principles of organization, composition and schemes of operation of operating systems;
  • principles of resource management, methods of organizing file systems;
  • principles of building network interaction;
  • basic methods of software development;
  • Hardware;
  • information legislation;
  • legislation on copyright and related rights;
  • labor law;
  • rules and norms of labor protection, safety precautions.
  1. Appointment to the position of a system programmer and dismissal from the position is carried out by order of the head of the enterprise.
  2. The system programmer reports directly to _______.
  3. During the absence of a system programmer (illness, vacation, etc.), his duties are performed by a person appointed in the prescribed manner. This person acquires the appropriate rights and is responsible for the improper performance of the duties assigned to him.

II. Official duties

System programmer:

  1. Advises the administration of the enterprise on the use of computer technology and computer information technology.
  2. Performs installation, configuration and optimization of system software and development of application software.
  3. Develops and implements application programs.
  4. Performs connection and replacement of external devices, testing of computer equipment.
  5. Optimizes the disk space of computers.
  6. Provides maintenance of computer databases.
  7. Conducts computer anti-virus activities.
  8. Participates in the administration of the local area network of the enterprise.
  9. Organizes support of contracts with third-party organizations providing services for communication, software and hardware equipment of the enterprise.
  10. Provides information exchange of the local network with external organizations via telecommunication channels.
  11. Carries out testing and repair of individual devices of computer equipment, cable lines of the local network.
  12. Eliminates emergencies related to software and database corruption.
  13. Organizes training of employees of the enterprise in the basics of computer literacy and work with applied software.
  14. Provides technical support for local networks and software used.
  15. Performs preventive work to maintain the operability of computer equipment.
  16. Organizes the repair of computer equipment with the involvement of specialized institutions.
  17. Carries out a systematic analysis of the hardware and software market.
  18. Prepares proposals for the acquisition, development or exchange of hardware.
  19. Provides timely notification of the financial and economic service about plans to upgrade hardware and software.
  20. Prepares progress reports.

III. Rights

The system programmer has the right to:

  1. Get acquainted with the documents that define his rights and obligations in his position, the criteria for assessing the quality of performance of official duties.
  2. Submit proposals for the management to improve the work related to the duties provided for in this Job Description.
  3. Request, personally or on behalf of the immediate supervisor, from the heads of departments of the enterprise and independent specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.
  4. Require the management of the enterprise to provide the organizational and technical conditions necessary for the performance of official duties.

IV. A responsibility

The system programmer is responsible for:

  1. For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this Job Description - within the limits determined by the current labor legislation of Ukraine.
  2. For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of Ukraine.
  3. For causing material damage - within the limits determined by the current labor and civil legislation of Ukraine.
