"My home is my castle" is a well-known proverb. But sometimes an invisible danger for a child lurks in this fortress: more and more household appliances appear, home equipment becomes more and more complicated; The arsenal of household chemicals is constantly expanding.

Barely born, the child begins to explore the world. His curiosity knows no bounds. During this period of life (when he begins to crawl and then walk), the baby needs special care to avoid injuries and accidents. It would never occur to an adult, for example, to stick a nail into a socket or to make a fire in a room or in the kitchen. A child can - out of mischief or curiosity. Children sometimes, left without adult supervision, carelessly open the taps of the gas stove, fall out of the open windows of a multi-storey building, they can try their grandmother's medicine. All this leads to serious injury or even death.

The study of the causes of injuries in children shows that most often they occur through the direct or indirect fault of adults. "Injury Vaccine - Education". This formula is valid not only in relation to children: it is addressed to adults to an even greater extent. Raising a child and instilling in him the necessary skills of safe behavior in everyday life, we must first of all know and observe them ourselves.

Already in early childhood, the child should know well what he can and cannot do. The whole question is how best to achieve this. Constantly forbidding, adults limit the activity of the child. But the very essence of a growing person is continuous movement, high activity. The constant "no" sooner or later will backfire.

Fire is very attractive to children. And if a child comes up to the fire, wants to touch it, he must be warned, given a "try". Subsequently, he himself will be careful. And if a child comprehends the danger under the control of adults, from an early age he becomes more and more attentive and cautious - such protection from all sorts of dangers is much more reliable than the most attentive guardianship of adults. A Hindu proverb says: "Smart parents sometimes let their children burn their fingers."

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

5000 tons of extraterrestrial particles fall to Earth every year 19.04.2021

As the Earth moves in its orbit, it encounters this dust all the time. It is she who causes meteor showers, some of which can reach the earth in the form of micrometeorites.

For 20 years, members of the international program have been observing the dome of Antarctica, at the Franco-Italian Concordia station, to estimate how much alien material falls on our heads every year. According to their estimates, on average, we are talking about 5200 tons of particles ranging in size from 30 to 200 micrometers. About 10 more tons of cosmic matter falling on the Earth are produced by relatively large meteorites.

Approximately 80% of micrometeorites come from comets, mostly from the Jupiter family. The remaining 20 percent comes from asteroids. Results above 100 microns are in line with theoretical predictions about the amount of extraterrestrial dust we should see. But below 100 microns, we see far fewer micrometeorites than predicted based on the amount of dust that should be in the solar system at the distance the Earth is from the Sun (1 astronomical unit - AU).

This suggests several possibilities: the presence of very fragile particles that will not be collected, the fragmentary removal of a significant amount of small particles before entering the atmosphere; or that the actual number of small interplanetary particles at a distance of 1 AU from the Sun. may be less than expected.
