Currently, a large number of people use the services of air transport. In flight, for various reasons, a number of extreme situations may arise in which it is necessary to act firmly and confidently. Confidence in actions arises when a person correctly and in detail knows the emergency equipment and knows how to use it.

In the event of a forced landing, the crew takes the necessary measures to evacuate passengers using the main and emergency exits, as well as technical means: inflatable ladders, fabric gutters, rescue ropes. If a fire breaks out on the aircraft after landing, the crew, having evacuated the passengers, must take measures to extinguish the fire and, if possible, remove the emergency radio station, medicines and food from the fire zone. After the evacuation of passengers, the crew must provide first aid to the injured.

In the event of a forced landing on water, the aircraft commander must, through the crew members, establish the procedure for opening the main emergency exits so that water does not get into the fuselage, prepare individual and group watercraft, emergency food supplies, radio beacons and other equipment for use. Before landing on the water, it is necessary to get and put on each passenger a life jacket, instruct all passengers about the rules for using the life jacket.

When evacuating from an aircraft, it is necessary to use group rescue craft (rafts), transporting the wounded, children, and elderly passengers to them first of all. After switching to floating facilities, it is necessary to check the number of passengers, sail to a safe distance from the aircraft (at least 100 m) until it begins to sink into the water, prepare emergency radio equipment, signaling equipment for operation and send distress signals. Being on a raft, it is necessary to organize round-the-clock duty to monitor the course of movement, the appearance of the coast, ships and aircraft. If they are detected, you must try to get in touch using an emergency radio station.

The crew and flight attendants must be prepared to provide medical care to the victims, know the principles of providing assistance with fainting, bruises, bleeding, fractures, burns, frostbite, etc.

To ensure the safety of passengers during takeoff and landing, it is necessary to take your seat in the aircraft, fasten seat belts and do not remove them during takeoff until the aircraft reaches full altitude, and during landing - until the engines stop completely. In all cases, when boarding an aircraft, it is necessary to study the rules of conduct during the flight, as well as the rules for using emergency rescue equipment. These rules are posted on the emergency exit doors, and are also in the instructions kept by the flight attendants.

The basic rule in case of accidents is to obey the crew's commands, while avoiding panic.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Hard drive capacity to double by 2016 01.06.2012

The maximum storage density of modern hard drives is growing at a very high rate, despite all the difficulties that engineers have to face. The scale of this process can be estimated based on data from analysts who predict a doubling of the data density by 2016 compared to 2011. and Growing demands on modern hard drives from video and audio processing applications are spurring progress.

Forecasts are as follows: one square inch of magnetic platters by 2016 will be able to record up to 1800 gigabits of information, while a year ago (in 2011) the data density was 780 gigabits per square inch. Thus, every year this parameter increases by an average of 19%.

Such a pace of development allows the industry to constantly move forward, easily beating flash memory chips, despite all the success of chipmakers. Thus, engineers successfully cope with all the technical difficulties associated with the development of perpendicular data recording technology. In turn, increasing the capacity of hard drives allows you to improve applications that place special demands on the resources of the computing system, in particular, the volume of the disk subsystem.
