"Galaxy"

Planet rover "Galaktika" is a four-wheeled off-road vehicle controlled by a radio transceiver. Its creators, brothers Sergei and Yuri Khaloimov from the city of Livny, Oryol region, made the wheels not solid, but consisting of separate spokes-legs, bent at the end and "shod" in rubber shoes. Hence the design feature: the wheels do not roll, but, as it were, step over obstacles.

According to the idea of ​​the guys, the planetary rover can also be used in terrestrial conditions. It can move on loose sands, forest clearings, mountainous and rocky terrain.

The mechanical drive of the "Galaktika" consists of a micromotor with a gearbox made from an old alarm clock; it drives a pair of wheels. Through the second gearbox, to which the movement is transmitted through the belt from the shaft of the first gearbox, the locator antenna rotates.

To control the model, a receiver with an actuator is installed on its platform, which turns on commands in turn. The battery for the receiver and the traction motor is also located here.

The model executes the following commands: move forward (at this time, the lights come on, simulating the operation of the locator); front and rear spotlights turn on; move forward (in this case, the front spotlights light up); stop - turn on the front and rear spotlights.

At the end of the model, the power switch is switched to the "off" position.

"Venus"

“It was the painting “Extraterrestrial Life” by science fiction artist A. Sokolov that prompted young technicians of the space modeling laboratory of the Kaluga region to create a planetary rover of this kind,” the head of the laboratory, Ya. I. Shmarev, tells us.

They presented it as a large inverted plate with a spherical superstructure. The double walls of the dome are made of durable material, coolant circulates between them. The crew, being under such a shelter, according to the guys, can freely conduct scientific work.

At the bottom of the base should be placed undercarriage and rocket launcher. The undercarriage gives the rover the ability to move on the ground on wheels, and when the rocket launcher is turned on, it can rise up and soar. True, the guys have not yet been able to install a jet installation.

The rover model consists of two main parts: chassis and body. Remote control is carried out from the remote control. "Venus" can move forward, backward and make turns. Powered by two micromotors with friction transmission to each of the drive wheels. Battery powered.

The spherical design of the mover, according to the guys from the city of Chapaevsk, Kuibyshev region, most rationally ensures the movement of the planetary rover with the least energy consumption. The openwork wheels of the planetary rover made of plastic reinforcement provide increased cross-country ability. The central control post is located above the living quarters and the motor part.

The planetary rover is controlled by moving its center of gravity. The model is powered by a 3336 L battery with a voltage of 4,5 V.

Texas Instruments announced the release of the industry's first family of standard-mount, high-power MOSFETs that dissipate heat through both the bottom and top of the package for high-current DC/DC applications.

This design allows power system designers to efficiently remove heat from printed circuit boards in high voltage DC or AC applications. This makes it possible not only to increase the density of power supplies, but also to expand the range of supported current loads and increase the reliability of systems.

The improved package technology reduces the thermal impedance towards the top of the package from 10 to 15°C per 1W to 1,2°C/W, resulting in an increase in heat dissipation capacity of up to 80%.
