I made it for the treatment of plants in the fight against pests in the garden and vegetable garden. I assembled it from improvised means, mainly from an electric motor from a sewing machine and a gear oil pump from a Ural motorcycle. I installed them on a common base and connected them with a long drive shaft. The sprayer is convenient because it is mounted on the wall of any suitable container (bucket, tank, pan) with a bracket and a bolt with a nut.

The basis was a panel made of dense wood with a thickness of 20-25 mm. Its length depends on the height of the container. The main condition is that liquid should not get on the engine.

The pump, together with the strainer, is attached to the base using a metal bracket, into which a branch pipe from a piece of copper tube is soldered against the pump outlet.

One end of the drive shaft is sawn square for connection to the pump coupling, the other is connected to the motor shaft by means of a rubber coupling from a piece of hose (on wire clamps). In the middle, the shaft is protected from vibration by an auxiliary bracket.

Sprayer assembly with container: 1 - spray tip, 2 - electric cord, 3 - switch, 4 - electric motor casing, 5 - shaft connecting the engine with the pump, 6 - bucket with a solution of pesticides

Sprayer
The main parts of the sprayer: 1 - electric motor, 2 - base board, 3 - safety bracket, 4 - pump with filter, 5 - branch pipe to the sprayer, 6 - pump bracket, 7 - drive shaft, 8 - clamping bolt, 9 - bracket, 10 - rubber clutch

The sprayer is suitable for any household sprayer. It connects to the pump with a rubber pharmacy tube. This design can be installed, as already mentioned, in any container - from a can or backpack tank to a small barrel on wheels, that is, to be mobile. If you use not a gear pump, but a centrifugal one, then the productivity of the apparatus will increase significantly.

The electric sprayer is convenient in the garden, in the garden with an electrified country house.

When connecting to the network and working with this device, it is necessary to observe the prescribed precautions: rubber boots and gloves are required, a reliable cable, an intermediate transformer or a commercially available automatic disconnection device from the mains is desirable.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Water diet 08.10.2011

Nutritionists from the Virginia Tech University (USA) have found an easy way to lose weight. The experimenters put 48 overweight and obese men and women on a low-calorie diet. Half of the subjects drank two glasses of plain water before each meal. After 12 weeks, it turned out that those who drank water lost an average of seven kilograms, and those who did not drink before meals lost only five.

The reason, the authors of the work believe, is that water fills the stomach, but does not bring calories. It is also impossible to exclude the deterioration of the assimilation of food due to the fact that the gastric juice is diluted with water.
